yikes. your dogs must hate when you come home. first of all my old lady was outside with him. he just went to the front to meet my neighbor. She went inside when this lady snapped a pic. Cars, yeah thats an issue with kids on their phones and sometimes ripping it down my block. but a cop lives across the street so people dont fuck around by me.. imo most dogs get hit because theyre not used to traffic. he doesnt leave the sidewalk because he knows not to run around in the street chasing squirrels. and hes 9. hes getting up there in age. sure i wouldnt take this approach with 90% of dogs because most get hyper excited about being off a leash etc. but since i first got him i used to go for light jogs and go on trails. he immediately started sticking by my side. and if i lose sight of him i just whistle and he returns. I always have my slip leash for when were in public. I didnt even need it at my mothers block party. he just sat there waiting to be fed. repeatedly. hes. just tame. doesnt wander. if anything he still has separation anxiety so the last thing hed do is leave on his own.shit ive paid for more sets of blinds than times i was worried where he was.
I think his old lady and the broad were in cahoots with the dame a block over. Her and that other chick have had it out for the dog for quite some time.
Why doesn’t he wear a collar? With a collar- “oh no someone’s best friend got out. I hope he’s ok” Without a collar “someone needs to get that vicious pit bull off the streets”
I’m sure your neighbor loves “meeting” your dog every time you step outside 2 doors down neighbor has a dog that “meets” me everyone it’s out by running up and sniffing and getting all in my business. Now that I have a baby, that will no longer be happening. I’ll be damned if that shithead is the reason my kid is scared of dogs
This is probably a top-3 thread for me, behind the family members around the holidays and probably tied with annoying coworkers. Thank y’all for your contributions. I hope I don’t have any of my own.
LOL. Yes. Yes they do. They actually feed him and give him treats all the time. both sides have dogs of their own. I wish you guys were better owners and taught your dogs to be obedient. :)
Yeah, the people who don't let their collarless dogs out to roam the neighborhood are the bad dog owners...
wow youre really upset about this. he doesnt roam the neighborhood. I told you he has separation issues. He goes to the front if he hears my neighbors. says hi. and comes back. if i called him or whistled when he walked over there he would immediately come back. I dont think your dogs suck its probably just you.
Not upset, I just find your lack of self-awareness to be humorous. At least one person saw your dog, presumed him to be stray, and contemplated calling a shelter, which was perfectly reasonable considering he was (1) without a collar, (2) not on a leash, (3) not in a yard, and (4) not with a human. That's one more person than will ever think that of my dogs, because I operate under the cultural norms of consideration of my neighbors and leash laws.
He's your dog and you will do what you want, but it's almost inevitable that one day he will run off and get hurt because of any number of reasons. My wife's a vet tech and the amount of stories of peoples pets getting hurt off leash with the excuse "he's never done that before" is almost endless.
letting your dog roam around sans collar is such a white trash sounding move but maybe its just me, normal dog owner, who is confused idk
I’m sure he’s a great dog and the neighbors love him, but what’s the upside of not having him wear a collar?
Like to make an exception to the rule argument....8 pound Shih Tzu owner here. Walking him on a leash is as embarrassing as actually owning one. It would be like putting a squirrel on a leash. Collar on though.
This is my first intro to Next Door. Two pit rescues keep escaping their yard and terrorizing the neighborhood. They finally killed someone's cat. It's getting lit up in the hood the pitchforks are about to come out. The owners are Mexican and someone said to build a wall to make the neighborhood great again.
A lady walking her kid was forced into a neighbor's house because the dogs were being so aggressive. They gotta go.
And then a lady was walking her rescue pit bulls and the other rescue pit bulls attacked the rescue pit bulls.
Dump would probably put himself down before he wanted to put down some piece of shit pit who had just killed a person.
I always keep a collar on my dogs because of the above mentioned "someone's best friend is out" factor, but I have my dogs in the front driveway whenever I'm out front. They just lay around mostly, the doodle will go over for pets if they stop and call her but otherwise they just watch, they never leave the yard but occasionally I might walk into the house to grab something and leave them out there for a minute or two. My cattledog is never on a leash like, ever.
