I've always wanted to play in one of these but didn't know where to do it. Do you guys who play in one each year just do it with a large group of people you know or is there a site or something?
Feel like this is an unusually tough week to pick - lots of better teams going on the road and lots of lesser teams drinking the Kool-aid of not being a lesser team and potentially playing above themselves. NFL master scheduling to blame I suppose. I'm thinking GB @ CHI but who knows.
This is my first time doing something like this but this week definitely seems very difficult. The public is all over Green Bay which makes me want to stay away from it. More than likely going New England or Dallas
This is the most difficult Week 1 I've ever seen. There's literally nothing that looks like a slam dunk. New England is the only big favorite playing at home so they are probably the "safest" pick but they are still playing a good team so it's rough.
Just browsed the matchups and the first ones that stood out for me are GB and Miami. Both on the road though so it really is a difficult week for this, gonna be a lot of unexpected losses most likely.
As a rule I never take road teams but New England is the only home team I would even think about this week.
Yeah and I'd hate burning them so early and when playing an offense and team like the Steelers. Toughest week 1 I can remember for suicide pool since I've been playing them. I can't even do the "just pick whoever is playing JAX" comfortably anymore.
Just can't get on board with Cinci after how shitting Dalton was looking and the fact I think Oakland won't be their normal terrible selves this season. I think Cinci takes a step back and Oakland will be better than last season, with it being in Oakland that game is too scary for me.
The Rams seem to play tough against them and other division opponents and its at St. Louis. Seattle has to have a hiccup sometime you'd think but I can't say that would be a worse pick than the other "solid" options week 1.
I have one at my new job, and one I play in every year with a large group of people. Hell, driving into work yesterday I saw a chiropractor's office urging people to join their suicide pool on their sign out front lol. They are everywhere I look around here, shouldn't be too hard to find one in your area.
Damn, meant to post but forgot. Im in an open one thats been running since we left Georgia. Up to 350 people now. $50 buy-in. Took the Pats bc I dont like fucking around Week 1. So many close upsets. Really tough this week as well. Thinking Steelers.
I'm debating on the "survive and advance" route, taking New Orleans with the rest of the group rather than press my luck on someone else, but I remember Week 2 a few years back where NE lost to AZ and wiped out like 75% of the pool.
Yeah, i think the final two last year came to an agreement and split 13 grand. Pool keeps getting bigger each year.
Rolling with New Orleans this week. Only other option I like is Indy but I'll wait until they get Jacksonville at home
Nearly 120 teams out of 190 total dropped from my office survivor pool from picking NO and BAL this week. 32 teams left, half of which have INDY selected tonight. Sunday bloody Sunday.
Sitting smug on the Indy train this week. Even if Indy loses, I win my survivor pool because everyone will be eliminated after 2 weeks and I have tiebreaker due to margin of victory of teams picked in week 1
