NCAA Season Wins Totals

Posted this on the regular board, but would like some opinions from you guys. See any good value here?

Not being a homer here, but I like Bama over 9.5. Under is at -155, so hopefully it'll get enough action to bring it down to 9. VT, Ole Miss, and LSU are the 3 games that they have more than a 25% chance of losing. No way they lose all 3. There could be a fluke loss in there, though, so that's why 9 would make me feel much better.

I absolutely love UGA at over 8.5. Arizona State, Tenn, Vandy, Tenn Tech, Auburn, and Kentucky should all be wins. That means they have to win 3 of Okie St, South Car, Arky, LSU, UF, and GT. I feel safe in saying they will do that.

Not sure what to make of LSU. They start with 4 wins in Wash, Vandy, Louisiana Laf, and Miss St. Then they get UGA and UF back to back. A split is possible there. Then they have Auburn and Tulane, two wins. They now are at 6-7 wins, depending on if they split. The finish out with Bama, La Tech (win), Ole Miss, and Arky. Depending on the UGA and UF games, they would need to win 2 or 3 of those games. After looking at the entire schedule, I don't feel confident in making a play here.

Oklahoma over 10. Love it. They could lose to Texas, but that's it. 11-1 most likely, a push at worst.

Penn State over 9. Umm, what am I missing? Only team I see as a threat is OSU. Who else? Akron, Cuse, Temple, Iowa, Illinois, Eastern Illinois, Minny, Mich, Northwestern, Indiana, Mich St. Where are the other 2 losses? I don't see them. Seems like easy money.

USC under 10. @OSU, @ ND (least likely to lose), @ Cal, @ Oregon. With a new QB, I think they drop 2 of them.

So, I've got them at 5-3 with 4 toss ups. They'd need to win 3 of them.

Not a flame or anything, just giving my thoughts on it. The GT and UNC games back to back will be crucial. If FSU can somehow win them both, then yea, it's a lock. GT's option is tough, though, and if they lose that one, traveling to UNC the next week is a bitch.

Not sure you follow enough FSU or ACC to write off the GT and UNC games as auto losses. If anything, they're toss ups. Also, they aren't back to back. There is a bye in between.

Ahh, I didn't see the bye week. My bad. Personally, I think GT is going to be really good this year. Another year to learn the offense for Nesbitt will help them a lot. It's not an auto loss, but I think GT should win the game. Taking the bye week into account, the UNC game should definitely be a toss up, though. If they do lose to GT, it gives them a week to get over it and extra time to scheme for UNC. Definitely a good time for a bye week.

FSU could definitely get to 8. I just don't feel good enough about it to make a play on it. You're better at me with this stuff, though, so you'll probably be right.

Go read the OP. Nowhere did I say I felt Bama was a lock to win 10. I went as far as to say I could see them losing a fluke game, so 9 would be much better. You, on the other hand, called FSU a lock. Say you were joking now, but you weren't. The only 3 I said I loved were OU, Texas, and PSU. Funny, none of them are Bama and none are in the SEC. So much for your logic.

Yeah....

The bottom line is you're incredibly optimistic and biased with respect to your team and your conference while pessimistic and equally / inversely biased when it comes to other teams outside of the SEC. You've made like everyone's head with whom you've engaged in a football conversation head explode because of your stubbornness and myopia.

If you'd researched the teams involved and not just flash-judged based on whatever you think you know from casually watching FSU or ESPN, you'd realize that FSU surpassing 7.5 wins is a very, very good bet, that there aren't only "five sure wins" on the schedule, that GT isn't a sure loss; UNC isn't a sure loss (especially considering the condition of their offensive line) and even Wake as a Toss Up is questionable considering what each team replaces and brings back.

How is saying I want the Bama line to go down to feel really good about it being overly optimistic? How am I being overly optimistic about the SEC when I said I really liked one team, UGA, to go over? How am I biased towards other conferences when 3 of the 4 teams I said I really liked, Texas, OU, and PSU, are not in the SEC? Nothing in my post was overly biased towards Bama or the SEC. Face it, you got butt hurt when I said I didn't think FSU was a lock, and you completely disregarded everything I said in the OP.

As for FSU, I've already said they could get to 8 or more. Personally, I don't feel as good about it as the 2 FSU fans in this thread. It's not like I said I put FSU under in the OP. I don't feel good enough about it either way to make a play on it. I've stated why I feel that way. Again, that's what this board is about. If you can't handle someone not agreeing with you, you might should stay off this board.

What do you guys think of Oakland over 5 1/2?

The AFC west is going to be really weak this year, and Oakland can run the ball and plays good defense. Denver's D is still atrocious, and they have Neckbeard as their QB now. Also I just don't see KC being worth a shit this year even with Cassell.

Also the Cle under 6 1/2 looks appealing to me.

Thoughts??

I don't think they're schedule is that tough and they are definitely improved from last season.

And if you see a PSU o9, take it and laugh.

This team will lose twice at the most. It is a lower payout, but a payout indeed.

That is an awful tough division. I doubt the fins will be as good, and the jets may take a step back with a rookie QB. Even with that I have the bills as a sleeper team to make the playoffs. They have a lot of talent on O now with TO Evans, and Lynch. If Edwards plays well they could be dangerous on O.

What does their D look like this year??
