Kelce’s career receiving statistics are quite a bit better I don’t know what to tell you. 600 more yards on 6 fewer games played. 150 more catches. Gronk has more tds
Herbert scored the go ahead TD with under two minutes on the clock. Sure, the INT was a shitty decision but it was also kind of a desperation throw with like 20 seconds left needing to still go 40 yards. Feels weird to over analyze that.
If Kelce stays healthy he’s going to blow Gronk’s career numbers out of the water and be top 3 all time in TE receiving yards
What Mahomes has done his entire career has been incredible. The thing is, Kelce and a bunch of JAGS might be a top 7 skill group in the NFL because Kelce is that good.
And most people who aren't biased by who they root for who watched both players play will still know Gronk was better
Hate to break it to you guys, but the best two TEs to ever do it when it’s all said and done played in KC.
This exactly. Gronk better typical TE but a Kelce is like a giant WR who’s a mismatch for pretty much everyone
if you want to talk career stats that's fine but make a note that Gronk had TB his entire career, Kelce spent the first half of his without Mahomes. when you do a rough average of the Mahomes years and extrapolate that out for his Mahomes-less years, add 11-12 TDs and at least 1k more yards. Gronk would still have him in TDs (about 92 to 80 regular season TDs although this regular season isn't over) but Kelce would have over 2k more receiving yards. as a scoring threat it's probably still Gronk but no TE has ever really seen a set of years like we're seeing with Kelce catching from Mahomes. Kelce is like <100 yards and 3 TDs from Gronk's all-time post-season stats for TE (currently first in both), too. Kelce will become only the 4th TE ever to surpass 10k receiving yards this year. he'll pass Sharpe in the next game or two. he'll pass Gates either at the end of 2023 season or the very start of 2024 and he'll pass Witten either at the end of 2024 or the very start of 2025. Gonzalez would be around the 2027 mark. if he continues catching TDs at a good clip, he can claim that record from Gates as well. if he wants those records, it's essentially a matter of when, not if, unless his body really starts falling apart. I think unless something catastrophic happened, at the bare minimum he retires 2nd in yards and 3rd in TDs.
Mahomes is now 24-3 against the division and 14-0 in divisional road games but to be fair in some of those games the chargers had injuries
Until Mahomes/Kelce sign for the Bucs and play in the juggernaut NFC South we can just agree Gronk is better.
i mean in the grand scheme of things it is meaningless but the fact that brands hire people to talk shit on their behalf to other brands is one of the most dystopian things that is passed off as just frivolous fun
I see it. I still think losing your mind over a coach punting from his own 34 while up 4 is laughable. The same call is made 99% of the time. Saying you would have done something else is fine, going with "OMG FIRE HIM" for a call in the 99% percentile is beyond dumb.
The media bullying Staley and Campbell into being conservative makes the NFL less fun. Staley absolutely goes for that last year and now he doesn't because everyone beat him down for it. Same with Campbell every time he has to kick a FG now or be less aggressive after the NE debacle.
I would argue the media criticism he got likely played a significant role in that conversation if it happened.
