Sure. But the extent to which you're searching for every angle to bring it up is kind of weird. I generally agree with your point, but I also think this is an odd circumstance with it being week 17 and not knowing whether the game would matter until last night. I don't think it's as cut and dry as you do. And when you can only dress 45 people, it's not easy to just sit everyone.

 

Or use it now and make everyone think about it on every 3rd and long

The inability to play zone D with any level of competence is really unfortunate. SF is doing the same thing Buffalo did with their third string RB that killed us against LBs in man. Minnesota will do the same, and I am terrified of what Barkley would do if we get that far.
