I’ll be more hopeful if they can get to the hub cities without too many positive tests. That's a big hurdle. I dont trust these dudes not to be dumbasses in their home cities
You almost have to hope the host cities are as boring as possible too. Granted, I don’t know much about Edmonton, but it wouldn’t shock me if there are fewer issues there than Toronto.
Canada as a country has had like 800 new cases total Sunday and Monday. I think that is the biggest factor in this working. even if these guys break curfew there’s just not a lot of the virus out there. compare that to the NBA where the state of Florida had over 12,000 new cases yesterday alone and it’s a much different story.
Saw some Instagram model put on twitter the other day that she's already been invited to NBA bubble by a player. I think you're issue is going to be guys sneaking people in. Luckily I don't think Canada has as many Instagram models as Florida
Was thinking more along the lines of crazy hockey fans gathering around the bubble trying to meet players and shit.
If the league gets out of the play ins and the first round without outbreaks, they will probably be fine. Adding so many extra teams to the mix was just a bad call though.
The thing that’s gonna suck is the GMs can’t really talk about injuries because you can deduce if it’s covid related. Parayko and Bortuzzo weren’t in practice yesterday. Just said they changed their phone numbers so they didn’t know there was practice. They’ll be back soon lol.
Seems to be fewer cases of NHL players testing positive for Covid as they come back. One big key is the acceptance of wearing a mask up here which will help keep numbers down especially in the hub cities. The bubbles will be breached be it at the hotel or the golf course so if everyone has a mask it should help.
Do these round robin games of top 4 teams from each conference do anything? Likely a stupid question but haven't followed what's happening with the restart.
His dad played in the Soviet System and in the Olympics. He’s the coach of a KHL team. Vlad definitely was raised w that mindset. He’s a pretty no nonsense guy.
I hate it when the NHL tries to take pot shots at other sports to bring up their status, but my god if it isn't true right now. Such a bad look for the guys in the NBA complaining about staying in a brand new 500 million dollar hotel. No, it's not a Ritz Carlton where everything is geared towards wealthy adults, but its still a really nice hotel with a lot of things to do to keep you occupied during the day.
