Think the only reason Atlanta is getting a third shot is because Anson Carter is leading the charge and will likely be team president. He will draw minority investors and possibly an AA owner. Location in the northern suburbs will be terrible to get to during the week but hopefully they will extend the train up to it.
Plus with ESPN basically starting all this I get the feeling they told the NHL to expand into the largest markets possible to help with ratings.
Might be going to the Lightning game tomorrow night. Do they have standing room tickets or any fun areas in the arena to watch the game?
The 100 section has a few areas you can hang out on the concourse and watch the game from in the corners. The 300 level has an area around the organ where there’s a bar and you can watch the game.
the espn+ streaming quality seems improved tonight; everything just seems smoother. Anyone else notice this? Or is it just me?
Marek is someone who seems to truly know how to read a fanbase. I believe he is well intentioned here (lol 25 guests)
The Flyers had Fletcher run its deadline last week, then had him dragged through the streets in shame before (presumably) firing him days later is something else.
“The Philadelphia Flyers organization has always been defined by grit, determination, and a standard of excellence,” said Dave Scott, chairman of Comcast Spectacor and governor of the Flyers, in a statement obtained exclusively by The Inquirer. It feels to me that a standard of excellence should take priority over grit.
NHL teams love waiting to fire a lame duck GM until they can finish digging the 12 foot hole they're putting their team in. Wilson in SJ and Chiarelli in Edmonton also come to mind. When every decision a guy has made the last few years has sucked, you fire him before the next important deadline, not after.
Fletcher might low key be the worst GM of a professional Philly sports team I can remember in my lifetime. Definitely between him and the Colangelo crime family
Special assistant to the panthers GM Chris Pronger spent a total of about 2 hours actually doing work for the panthers.
8 points in 4 games for Sandin. Thanks Leafs, might be best thing we have going for long-term future.
