Bjugstad is the kind of guy Pittsburgh has to gamble on with their salary structure. He’s still young, he has some offensive upside and he’s cost effective. I think he is an upgrade on. Brassard for sure.
I think its a good trade for both teams Pitt gets a Center with more control, more upside than Brassard. Bjugstad should see his stock rise over the next few years where Pitt can flip him as his K runs out. Short term win. Fla gets to clear cap space and a boat load of picks. Long term win.
buddy of mine was so committed to Brassard working. Spoiler my friends and I are all penguin fans. When we can we get together and build a team on nhl 19 career mode. He'd always try and talk us into brassard as a second line center or wing. Spoiler I know I'm a fag for still playing video games with my friends at 31
Big dude who doesn't use his size at all. Can fit on a top line with 2 better linemates and struggles when asked to carry a line on his own. Drafted as a center but moved to wing halfway through last year and that helped him a lot. Not the best skater and his hockey IQ is mediocre. However, he is gonna get you 40-50 points so his contract won't ever bother you, but you will always look at him and wish for more McCann is a good bottom 6 center who has potential. Bjugstad doesn't work well as a center. better off as a wing in a support role
So worst case scenario, McCann plays 3C and Cullen plays 4C while Bjugstad plays next to Malkin or Crosby.
