Yikes, first look is thats bad. Bellemarre never made any last second movements, didnt change his position. It was just a wide open ice flying elbow to the face that looked like it knocked him out instantly.
Went to Habs/Kings last night. Bell Centre has to have the best sightlines of any sporting venue I’ve been in. Just built completely vertical.
I need to see a hockey game there. I went to see Nick Diaz vs GSP several years ago and it was easily the best sight line I’ve had for an MMA show. Best crowd as well.
I never got why people wanted Cherry off the air. It's hilarious to see him bitch all the time about modern hockey. But now I get it more. Fuck this turd
GF wanted to do something for the long weekend. I dragged her to a hockey game. Now I’m sitting in cafes for the next 48 hours.
McGinn was actually pretty solid last season when he came back from injury. Brouwer is what he is. a 4th liner.
With Tarasenko and Steen out, the holes are in the middle six. I’d rather see Kostin or Kyrou get brought along w ROR than try to squeeze those dudes in middle six roles or likely bump some 4th guys up. The 4th is great as it is.
yea, neither should be playing middle 6 roles. maybe mcginn is completely healthy and can be a solid 3rd liner, but you are better off hoping the young guys can do the job
Meh. Canada just re-elected a guy to PM who has worn blackface more times then he can remember and committed probably the biggest ethics scandal in Canadian history but that all gets lost in the wash to the Liberals somehow. Hypocrisy is astounding
He pressured whatever the equivalent of the Canadian Attorney General to drop a case against a company I assume he had friends in. I dont know the specifics, but that's the gist.
Cherry was a big part of my childhood. Growing up in Detroit, I had access to CBC, so my dad and I always watched HNIC. I loved the guy. Shit changes though. He deserved this. In fact, it should have happened like fifteen years ago.
Yep pretty much. In reality, Grapes is around 85ish now so he probably should of stepped away a few years back. But this probably won't just end quietly right away.
The hypocrisy is outstanding with the black face. Conservative wears black face all you hear is racist. Yet the first African American president endorses Trudeau. Just a crazy world.
Here’s the difference. JT was wrong for what he did and apologized. But for 4 years everyone who hated JT claimed he pandered to the minority vote, was too soft on immigration and spent too much money on programs for new Canadians. So which one is it? 4 years of being the opposite of racist to overnight being a racist? Don Cherry has made too many comments over the years that were derogatory towards immigrants and Quebecois. He should have been gunned years ago. He clearly is racist and did not apologize for his actions.
This is my exact point with it. Im not going to clutter the thread with politics but it doesn't matter when someone else does it and apologizes, they're still a racist. Oh well back to Hockey. Leafs suck
Tbh I’m surprised Ron Maclean survived this. Wouldn’t surprise me if the head honchos gave them the opportunity to right their wrong and apologize/explain their comments. Ron did so last night; DC didn’t.

It's probably a good thing for Sportsnet in the end. I don't watch HNIC much anyway but a younger analyst would improve things. I feel NBC has improved with new guys like Boucher and Sharp taking on bigger roles there. Obviously the helmet pick is a big part of the show, but ESPN should've replaced Corso like five years ago. Anytime I happen to watch a segment of Gameday with him on it's just painful.
