what a lame finish
Geno refusing to go off cost a point
EDM just got a PPG off a penalty in which the official tripped a player and called it on Toews
Jay Bouwmeester just collapsed on the bench and had to be removed on a stretcher. This is fucked up. They sent both teams to the locker room w 10 min to play in the period
Instant reaction from the bench. Hopefully it's just a passing out, but if it's serious, the guys did a great job reacting
Players on both teams were tearing up. It looked scary as hell.
Wife said that twitter is saying he was getting CPR done. That sounds way more serious than passing out. Did he get hit earlier in the game or have any kind of health issues in his history?
Someone on Blues twitter said they watched all his shifts and he never took a hit tonight.
He’s also one of the fittest guys on the team. Known for keeping in great shape
Scary shit. Wonder what it could have been.
Hopefully just low blood sugar
Hopefully not anything else I'm thinking
Darren Pang mentioned a defibrillator being used.
So that and CPR are being mentioned. Is that common for low blood sugar?
Unless it has a use I’m not aware of, defibrillators are for cardiac episodes
Doesn’t seem like the defibrillator was used.
Quinn Hughes with 12 points in his last ten games
Still can’t believe Detroit passed on him. Zadina will be a good player but Hughes should have been the pick there. Of course Arizona whiffed on him too.
Holland was never picking him. If it wasn’t Zadina it was going to be Bouchard.
I know he told Brian Burke he was taking a D at that spot. Passing on Hughes for Bouchard would have been a mistake. Hughes was always the more dynamic player with the potential to be a number 1. Bouchard was seen as a top 4 player, like a 2 or a 4, the kind of player you can play with your #1.
with the Bouwmeester thing, I read an article on the Athletic a couple weeks ago where the Eagles writer talked to Jason Kelce every week about the state of his body. Kelce seems like a really smart guy who is very concerned with life after football, but even so he was taking Toradol (a powerful anti-inflammatory) before every game to get his body where he needed it to be. obviously I have no idea what happened with Bouwmeester so I'm not drawing any conclusions but it really made me think about the kind of stuff these guys are putting in their bodies on a nightly basis and ramifications it could have. everything Kelce did was monitored by the training staff and regulated, but what's really stopping a guy from going out on his own and looking for an edge. it made me think I'm actually surprised these health emergencies don't happen more often.
The Athletic recently had an article about this where they have a line to the Wings thinking at the time. Basically Ken didn’t want another small D.
Wow. Bouwmeester’s dad was at the game because it was the Blues dads trip.
I can see that being a determining factor if both players were graded and evaluated at the same level.
Toradol seems to be too common in the nfl. Hernandez took it every game too
I thought he could be a #1 eventually but didn’t think he’d be this good defensively this quickly. This play on Duchene the other night is not something you’d expect from a 20 year old.
It seems like hockey has more guys with cardiac issues and such than other sports but maybe I'm just remembering things weird. Like you have guys like him and Letang nearly dying while in incredible shape and I somehow don't remember stuff like this ever in football even with the weight some of those guys carry. Wonder if there is a reason for that or its just fluky.
probably all of the cocaine
So Nashville is fucked, yes?
Long story short, Nashville is on the hook for the cap hit if he retires
Montreal might decide to let him LTIRetire but that’s a lot time to still have to cut his checks, small as they might be.
Montreal doesn’t have a say in the matter. If he wants to collect a check, he has every right to.
How much money would Montreal be on the hook for if they LTIR him?
Like 1.5 mil a year
Poor lil fella
I would say the heart rate of hockey players jumps from incredibly high to back to normal more than in any sports during a game.
People dying on the ice happen a lot in beer leagues.
It got Alan Thicke
I see no gap in the schedule for the [email protected] game
Is there more to the whole Roenick situation?
Reading the comments he made on that podcast its astonishing to me that it even lead to a suspension, let alone a firing.
the world has changed a ton in the last year or so. Those kind of comments just don't fly anymore even if the person they are about isn't offended. Cancel culture is real and people need to be careful.
my guess is that it gets tacked onto the end of the regular season like the snowed out boston V. Panthers game from 2 years ago and only played if necessary.
Was thinking Montreal vs what insurance would payout. But with that type of money why would he retire?
Oh fuck off, what job could you say something like that publically about one of your coworkers? Get that barstool take out of here
And she WAS mad
