Marchand is someone it’s so hard to get an accurate judgement of. On one hand his 200 foot metrics are excellent but you wonder how much of that is Bergeron pulling most of the weight.
he is overrated, when you look at his overall stats it’s not that impressive. He just had a couple of incredible seasons and people see the potential of greatness in him but he never quite gets over the hump.
If you were to rank these four goalies, how would you rank their careers? (also feel free to guess who each is)
Who knew we were such big Pekka Rinne fans in this thread Here's the list Spoiler 1: Price 2: Rinne 3: Quick 4: Bishop
There was a pretty in depth article a few months ago in The Athletic. Unlucky, sure, but only in the sense that Montreal shoots and controls the puck/scoring chances more than it should vs their point totals. But the main difference between Habs and successful teams was that they lacked elite scoring/talent. The system works, players work hard but simply don’t have the high end talent to finish as much as others.
Ottawa LA Anaheim NJ and Buffalo going to dress even more AHL’ers to enhance lottery chances if forced to play.
LeBrun thinks it’s going to happen in June, completion of the season be damned. He just put an article up saying as much.
Sounds like it would still be a lottery but if they expand the playoff field, a lottery team could win the lotto and the SC.
I like the notion of putting 24 teams together for the playoffs. No need for Detroit or Ottawa or LA to be playing. Hold a lottery but only the bottom 7 can get a top 3 pick. Can’t have Boston or Colorado winning the lottery and going on a long playoff run.
I agree with this, but as desperate as I am for the draft, it would suck having a draft pretty much void of any trades.
