It’s been discussed before, but my god at the decision to have those virtual ads on the boards. The NESN bruins feed was way darker than in previous years so the white of the virtual ads on the board and ice were whiter than the actual ice. Completely ridiculous to take a huge step back in picture quality in 2022.
You can’t suspend someone based on one out of the blue anonymous tweet. Especially when there is no follow up from ( in this case ) her allegation or a willingness to come forward. If what she says is true that was criminal activity and should be pursued. On her end.
0-2 to start the season. Played Toronto even and were the better team against Sabres. But results are what’s important and there are whispers that if they start out like they have the last two years DJ Smith will be fired. Keep hearing Eugene’s daughters are selling soon and will own a minority share in the team. Plus have their own luxury suite for life
Again. What else can they legally do? this girl didn’t even say what city it occurred in. It was all pretty generic details outside of the grooming itself.
I was willing to give it a shot but hockey just doesn't work. In soccer, that type of stuff is fine because it's off the field and a smaller ratio compared to the size of the playing surface. Hockey it's horrrrrible the way it's implemented. They could do the virtual thing as I understand that it's better for the ads to be more localized to who is watching (so seeing Florida ads when the Panthers are in Boston tonight) but the motion is terrible. They could have just done virtual boards that look like the static ones and still given more value to the local sponsors. Sorry im sure its been discussed a lot already but I skip pages.
Make the ads static and just change each faceoff or commercial or something, and dull them down a little. I don't hate it - but they're bright white and when they change it's distracting.
You run into major pricing issues if the allotted amount of time isn’t fixed. I’m not disagreeing. But that’s the advertising-side explanation for why they’re set as :15 or :30 second units. Animated also drives a higher price than static because…well…they’re annoying and catch your eye. You notice them more.
There’s been big issues with Viasat (Nordic TV service that owns the NHL rights) the first week and it’s been speculated that it’s due to the board ads. Games just cutting out for minutes at a time.
He’s a really interesting prospect. Favorite anecdote about Pinto is that he just played pick up/non organized hockey until he was 15. it’s almost unheard of in this era that a guy making the league wasn’t in a hockey factory since he was 6.
Correction - we’re actually gonna dominate 5v5 too, apparently That might have been the most lopsided Rangers period I’ve ever seen
Apparently the Wild are the first team since the 89-90 Red Wings to allow 20 goals in the first three games of the season.
Blues dont have their second game until tomorrow, and it's in Edmonton, so a super late start. Just a brutal schedule for the fans
I was interested in this so looked it up and it appears he played organized hockey, just not at the highest level. Tier 2 vs Tier 1 in NYC/Long Island, which sounds like AA vs AAA in Canada. Still a cool story but definitely not pick up/non organized.
Think he saw himself as a baseball? player first, hockey player second growing up. Sens took a lot of flak for picking him first in the second round. Sens scouting had confidence in him.
No idea how it was only a minor, looked so bad. Then decides to cross check him down on the ice for good measure Vancouver players barely responded to it, was weird
That’s a fairly considerable difference in the two scenarios. I mean for other leagues that $3m difference in negligible. But holy shit that’s some serious depth in todays NHL.
