I struggle paying it to a guy that has had 3 separate teams be comfortable letting him go. I’m not as big a Hamilton fan as many. Some elite scoring from defense though and not just a PP guy. 35 even strength goals for a D the last 3 seasons, with 2 being half seasons, is pretty incredible. I see why people take the risk with Hamilton. I wouldn’t have personally.
I really like Hamilton but if there's 2 minutes left and you're protecting a one goal lead, do you trust him to be out there? His ATOI was 3rd among Carolina defenseman at 5v5

A few of those look like AHL contracts for buffalo. Most teams are signing a few of those today. I think we added 5 guys, none of which I see playing for the lightning. Got to stock that AHL roster with a few vets.
His last year in Ottawa, Karlsson lead the team in 5v5 ice time by 2 minutes. I don't need my 1D killing penalties but they need to be out there in big situations 5v5.

6th in the metro and 5th in the atlantic both finish 2nd in either of the western conference divisions. So many poorly run teams out west. Some are just rebuilding but most are just poorly run.
