Colton the only significant RFA domino left for the lightning. A few others but Colton and Foote were the big ones.
Lundkvist absolutely is an A level prospect and will be the Rangers second best defenseman right away.
So what is considered an A+ prospect McDavid and Matthews before they entered the league?Either way I’m not paying the price for damaged goods which is what Eichel is. The Rangers should just be patient and wait till next offseason when McDavid demands a trade after what Holland did this offseason.
The rangers had probably the most promising rebuild in the NHL and Tom Wilson convinced them to tear it all down. Incredible.
Everyone will say it's Ohio(yeah most of Ohio sucks ass) but Columbus isn't a bad city, I don't get why this is such a struggle for them.
That’s big for us. Pretty surprised that he agreed to 3 years at that low AAV. He scored a lot at every level and is likely our next big undrafted guy. This contract could look incredible in a year or 2.
Think part of it has to do with most of their top players they've lost in recent years were traded there instead of being drafted there. (bar PLD) It's a lot easier to leave a team when you've already moved once and the team probably wasn't your first choice to begin with. (And when you're a UFA instead of an RFA)
I honestly don’t know what Burnside brought to the table. He was basically a columnist, but every other NHL writer but DGB is a news breaker. I just don’t think he brought in much activity. Seems like a good guy and it sucks he’s gone, but he did nothing for me.
I agree with you, but it seemed like they had a guy like him in every department to just add the name recognition and respect.
True. I kinda think they don’t need that for the NHL though, as I think their NHL coverage probably makes up a huge portion of their subscriber base in North America.
thats the trade a lot of us were expecting. I was hoping to get a 4th but we needed to move one of those guys. Good pickup for the red wings. Bad injury last year and we were too good and deep for him to come back and play but he was playing over some of the guys who won the cup before his injury. Solid bottom 6 center. Mistake by other teams not to pay more after the success we have seen from former lighting forwards who have left and gone to other teams.
The only surprise is that they didn't give more in return. Vegas probably should have demanded Fox or Lafreniere and Drury would have eventually relented.
The perfect ending to the Rangers offseason will be when they trade Lafrienerre to ............................................Washington for Wilson.
If I’m brisebois I would offer palat for lafrenierre and see what drury says. That’s an obvious no to nearly everyone in hockey but I’m not sure it is to the current rangers management who’s sole focus is on making the rangers harder to play against in the playoffs.
