For those that didn't grow up playing the game, when you started playing Novice league (8 years old), and you are taught how to hit. The complete no no is the hit from behind. I got ejected when I was 8 for a crosscheck from behind. Fast forward to the NHL, they allow checking from behind all the time. Its awful

I have 0 blame for Larkin. Its the NHLs fault it has got this way. I know the game has changed since I played my U18 year in 2005. But I had ACL surgery in 2004. 1 month after I got back, I made a move on a guy and he stuck his leg out and went to knee to knee on me. I got up and immediately ripped his helmet off and started to go to work. I got 5 games for it but I totally get Larkin.
