The victim asked for a sincere written apology and he texted her two sentences. Fuck him. Incontrite piece of shit.
Reading between the lines, he got a bj from a young girl in Sweden, took a picture/video of her doing it without her consent, then shared it with his teammates. An admitted, convicted, unapologetic, sex offender. Your Montreal Canadiens 2021 1st round pick.
that is awful heard he sent her a dick pick but I believe you more than what I heard. I am sincere, I think you would know more than the people who told me that.
Appears the Kraken are planning on long hauling it. I have no idea how to feel about it. On one end, it could be a solid approach, on the other end, I’ve been dealing with the promise of good GM’s with the M’s (starting with Jack Z) for an eternity. I’m already dealing with the most miserable franchise in American sports, and am fresh off another one, so I can certainly handle replacing the Canucks with the Kraken. But I really feel like Francis could’ve done a lot more
I have no issue with them long hauling it but they left 5-10 top 2 round picks on the board during the expansion draft and that’s the opposite of building slowly. It seems to me like he’s trying to do some hybrid between building and winning and the NHL has shown us that rarely works. We will see how he uses his precious cap space in free agency. He gave up a lot of draft picks to have that cap space.
That was the year my buddies were up for the draft. Every Russian that picked up 1 assist that year on some team 20,000 leagues under the sea got drafted.
San Jose falling off a cliff really helped maximize this deal. Even with the ottawa draft being criticized by everyone they have a good group of young players. You just can’t ever trust what a team could be with a cheap and shit owner. Owner commitment is so vital in this sport in current times.
He told police she was just trying to ruin his career. He wasn't the slightest bit remorseful until he realized shit was about to hit the fan.
I missed that when it was posted. How is someone put in front of a microphone by that organization on the weekend of that pick and not prepared for that question? How? This is why you don’t make that pick.
the victim was also incredibly fair in what she asked. Understandably she didn’t want to see him. She wanted a hand written apology. That was her ask. He sent her a 3 line text. I didn’t know it was a blowjob video but I assumed it based on the context of the reporting. I hadn’t heard about him also sending her contact info to teammates which someone said which is a pretty large escalation in my mind. I don’t think his career should be over if it’s an isolated incident. If he had done what the victim asked and the victim accepted the apology I don’t even know if I’d have an issue being drafted this weekend. Based on his lack of apology I didn’t think he should be drafted and he should be re-evaluated as far as his character over the next year to determine if that changes. is that so much to ask from the NHL?
I’m not saying the kid should never have a chance to play in the league but he asked not to be drafted this year. Seems like it's pretty simple just to take his name out of the draft so teams can't pick him. It saves them the mess they had at the end of the first round. With what's going on with the Blackhawks, this is just another embarrassment for the NHL when it comes to abuse. Hell, now the kid sees there's no consequences for what he did and he still went first round.
I wonder if the league didn’t want to set a precedent for opting out of drafts? Otherwise, yeah, if you rule him ineligible this year then it can all be avoided.
When the deal was made everyone dumped on it. The two key pieces it turns out were a mid round first in Norris who has really developed and last years first. Nobody thought it was going to be top five and land the Sens a high end talent like stutzle. Luck finally shines on Ottawa. As for the draft Sens fans have complete confidence in the drafting abilities of Trent Mann. Everyone chirped Tkachuk, Pinto, JBD, Soogard and Sanderson last year. They may have stretched on a few kids but without a year and a half of scouting arenas, they feel like they know what they are doing. If anyone has a time machine please let me know how this draft turned out.
people were against tkachuk? I know the sens feel like they’ve had some success drafting off the consensus boards some. as far as the karlsson deal it definitely didn’t look like the pick would be top 5 and like you said norris’ development has been strong and that’s shaped the trade. Karlsson dropping off a cliff also, while somewhat expected, has helped make the draft look stronger as well. Paying karlsson with his health top dollar for 8 years was always going to look rough but I think some are surprised as how quickly that’s come true. Maybe it’s more of the situation and he can bounce back if the sharks as a whole improve.
i see that now but when i went to sleep Friday night the pick wasn’t in, I woke up at 5:45 Saturday and i went golfing(what a stupid stupid sport) with some friends to celebrate the 40th of one of our friend. After that we had prepared a surprise birthday party so I was out all day, came in at 1:30 am. I did not check anything but when we talked about it during the night my friends all said that he just sent her a dick pick and that it wasn’t a big deal. Most of my friends are former hockey players with the exact attitude that you would expect so I obviously should’ve made a 5 sec research before asking the question. My bad Gunners i hope this episode did not disturb you too much. Gave you a like to make up for it.
yeah, tkachuk had a subpar season in the ncaa before his draft year but he was pretty good in the world juniors. Most (including myself) were knocking his skating. Now I would take him over kotkaniemi anyday of the week. I am not giving up on kotkaniemi just yet but a line of caufield, suzuki and tkachuk would be very sexy to me. Of course that is assuming everything would’ve played out exactly the same after mtl would’ve taken tkachuk which is highly unlikely but the point is that tkachuk was easily a top 3-4 player in this draft. Although his stats are never really impressive.
I went back and watched Brayden point WHL highlights the year before his draft year and I don’t see how he went 79. I understand it with plenty of the lightning mid round guys. I understand that the concerns on Russians staying in the KHL pushed Kucherov down. I know point is 5’9/5’10 and highlights don’t show everything but he displays some incredibly advanced stick handling, awareness and just overall skill. I don’t think a lot of the revisionist history when it comes to the NHL draft is fair on GMs but I just don’t understand how he fell that far.
I don't know this player or the country they are in but in many instances an apology letter can have legal consequences.
Everybody questioned if his sub par skating would translate well in the nhl, and of course his size. https://www.si.com/hockey/news/how-the-lightning-got-one-of-the-greatest-draft-steals-of-all-time
I know the story. I guess because I know the story so well, I was surprised at how decent of a skater he was? I was expecting someone who couldn’t skate. He didn’t generate the speed he does now or even did early in the NHL career but it just didn’t seem as bad as it was made out to be but I’m far from an expert amateur scout
Wasn’t that also the draft where everyone expected the Sens to give the pick to Colorado but they decided to wait until the next season?
I would think that objectively it’d be hard not to be disappointed with what they’ve been able to do thus far. Obviously there’s a lot of cap room to play with but its been underwhelming to this point.
yeah, I remember being shocked by that too when I heard cooper talk about his skating. I never saw anything that would cause me to think he was an awful skater but like you I am not looking for that type of stuff either.
I was gonna say that seemed like an overpay, but didn't want to have to argue with you for the next two pages so I'm happy you agree.
Zito is gambling that Bennett falls somewhere between his 5 years of shit tier play with Calgary and his 14 games of excellent play with the Panthers. If he reverts back to Calgary Bennett, this is Jay Beagle level bad. repeating myself, but I don't like this bet at all.
My big FA predictions - Hamilton returns to CAR on a 7x7 deal. - Landeskog to SEA at 7x6 - Ovechkin signs 4x10 with WSH - Danault signs 6x5 with ANA
Hamilton has had opportunities to seek out deals and hasn’t agreed with anyone yet. I assume that means he ends up back in Carolina, which is that is the case, will mean he takes far less than he gets elsewhere.
