Supposedly Landeskog already turned down a 7x7ish deal with Colorado. He could just say "fuck you" to the avs and do that but it seems like he wants a good bit more.
Reports out that Nemeth is signing with NYR for two or three years at around $2.5m AAV. Would be great if true.
You wonder if Minnesota is extra incentivized to go after Eichel because it would help them resign Kaprizov. No secret he was really wanting to play with a better C. They have to give up crazy assets though. Not only for Eichel but probably more to clear cap space.
Just finished the Seravelli pod. He said they offered Ned 1.75, and that’s what they had been discussing with Bernier which is nuts.
I could see one of them winding up the Flyers backup for some reason I thought Carolina still had them under contract.
Yeah they are all UFA lol. I appreciate their lack of belief in investing in goalies. I think they are even a bit extreme for me though.
Fiala would have to be part of the deal for cap purposes, but not sure he would be what the Sabres are looking for. Rossi and Boldy would be the two big prospects that Buffalo would be interested in, but I'd have a hard time seeing the Wild split with both of them because they will need quality players on entry level contracts. Plus, Buffalo had the opportunity to draft Rossi last year and passed on him, and while I am high on him, I don't see why his stock would be higher today than it was when he was drafted. For the Wild, I think it would have to be something like Fiala, Boldy, another non-Rossi prospect (someone like Marat Khusnutdinov), and a 1st round pick. I don't see the Wild going more than that, so it would be up to Buffalo whether it would be enough for them. I would guess that Buffalo would want more than that, though.
Seeing what teams are getting in return for taking on bad contracts and what some decent defenseman are getting back in trades, Seattle is a contender for worst offseason.
Pretty annoyed with Francis already. No idea wtf he was thinking by getting so cute with his asking prices and instead just rolling around in some slop as a self own.
I'm just being overprotective of Hart and don't want anyone who could be perceived as a challenger for the #1 job.
After last season, the Flyers don't have a choice. They are a playoff team with even league average goaltending. You can't keep trotting out Brian Elliott as the #2 and hope Hart figures his shit out before then.
