you are right, he can speak it but I am not sure he kept up enough to be comfortable. Maybe with a few months of classes he would be good at it. I doubt he wants to do that though
Some more info on the Panarin situation, though it’s in Russian. https://www.sport-express.ru/hockey...asskaz-nazarova-ob-izbienii-devushki-1760932/ - There likely was a conflict between Artemi, his teammates, and a group of likely prostitutes. - Verbal altercation happened as the prostitutes wouldn’t leave them alone. Artemi may have shoved one of them. - Police likely were involved, but the player heard nothing about a payoff or need for it. Ultimately, it sounds like the altercation got blown out of proportion by the past coach. But something did happen.
It makes sense that there was an incident but that it was greatly exaggerated by Nazarov. The details of time and place seemed too specific to completely fabricate. I know some American reporters asked former teammates about it who said they didn’t remember anything, but these were all import players. That would make sense if the incident was minor since everything you hear about KHL life indicates that the imports don’t really mingle off of the ice with the Russian players.
Listening to Puck Soup. Wyshinski said he wouldn’t trade Hughes for Eichel. They all don’t hide their fandom but holy moly.
Another interesting rumor/speculation out of Rangerland - if the Rangers formally suspend Panarin’s contract through the rest of the season, it would open up over $10M in cap space for the Rangers. And Panarin may not mind that much considering his pay was heavily front-loaded this season. He would lose out on less than $1M. The Rangers free up over $15M of cap space after this season is over. So doing the above allows them to make a major move prior to the offseason. /funcapmanipulationspeculationoftheday
someone should do the haircut thing over the years with bergevin, it’s incredible. He looks like he aged 20 years since he was hired, now he just looks like a washed up artist
no, well maybe but they are still the panthers so they will be out after the first round of the playoffs
I don’t even mean that NY would hire Julien. I just mean that now a team took the plunge and fired its coach, will other teams get the courage to do the same?
I got it,but I meant that maybe some team will find the courage now if they see a coach like him available. Although he will be pricy
This makes no sense at all. They are going to make a deadline splash to replace Panarin’s salary? What expensive player with term is being moved at the deadline that won’t be available in July?
Kings had a delayed penalty call and the blues kept possession for 3:36 before the kings touched it. The refs arm must be burning
It’s fun fan fiction for now, but some folks seem to think it could give the Rangers an inside track on an Eichel or Barkov trade. Disregarding the fact those trades may not even be realistic in the first place. HF being HF, basically.
Yes please. Eklund already reported that it’s basically going to be in Julien’s court whether or not he wants to take the Rangers job. But knowing Eklund, that worries me even more.
The panthers aren’t trading Barkov until he tells them he’s not re-signing. Simple as that. The panthers are currently playing extremely well even with the soft schedule. Trading him this season would be idiotic and has no chance of happening. Eichel could be had this season but I’d be shocked if a trade happens during the season. More teams can get involved at the draft. this is really stupid level fanfic stuff
Absolutely agreed there. I think it’s more interesting the potential for cap circumvention that could possibly happen with Panarin than necessarily the outrageous expectations of what could be done thereafter. It’s always shocking to me that NHL CBAs are so flimsy that these outrageous possibilities can even exist in the first place. There’s a chance $9M that was already paid out to Panarin won’t be counted against the Rangers cap this year. What combination of CBA rule sets allows for something like that to happen??
That’s the crazy part, the cap part is not pro-rated. Suspended contracts get 100% cap reimbursement. The Rangers would open $11.6m in cap space with Panarin losing out on $650k. The only money that’s affected by being pro-rated is what Panarin loses out on in terms of remaining money owed for the year. It’s totally non-sensical. Again, likely won’t happen. And the delusions of grandeur for what could happen thereafter are just that, delusions. But the fact this is even a remote possibility is a dumb hole in the CBA.
Sabres twitter and media is in an absolute firestorm about Skinner getting scratched for his 3rd straight game.
