the flyers have been playing annoyingly well. notice bro didn't talk about the goat head jersey this week.
I’d legit love to see that. Because 14-16 is the age 99.9% of girls go from dominating the guys to being dominated by guys 2 years younger than them. For her to be dominating boys 2 years older than her is incredible. sounds like we have a real Cindy Crosby on our hands. edit. She’s Czechian. Jaromia Jagr
Sammy Blais just laid his biggest hit as a Ranger! on Julian Gauthier his teammate Rangers down to 10 forwards
God damn. Let’s fucking goooooo #Seattle Kraken 7 straight wins, 6 on the road, and shutout Boston to hand Boston their first regulation home loss this year.
I’m old enough to remember us giving a young soulfly shit about the timing of dropping the Canucks who were definitely on the rise for an expansion team.
That’s not the reason why I shat on him. He just dropped a team in a 6 months span to become a Seattle fan. And we all know he would be the first one to whine about the kraken if they sucked again this year. If the Canuck’s were good he would go right back to the Canucks soulfly is using the transfer portal to It’s absolute. You can’t flip flop between teams like that. I reserve the right to change my opinion in the 0.01 percent chance we get the nordiques back
Buddy, what? I rooted for the Canucks because they were the closest team to me geographically. Granted, I only got real heavily invested into the Canucks when I was living in Bellingham because HNIC afforded me opportunities to actually watch them (Bellingham gets CBC, whereas Yakima does not). Seattle getting a team meant I had a team in my state (to go along with every other team I root for, save for Barcelona and ND). Rain or shine, this is my team. If the Canucks magically peel off 5 SCs in a row and the Kraken reside in the cellar for all of it, then so be it.
Can confirm. Pretty much when the rumours of Seattle getting a team soul said he was switching alliances.
I was just kidding you guys, I thought the conclusion of me going back to the nordiques at the end gave it away.
I’m just bummed because I legitimately got excited I was going to have actual fans to converse with in this thread given the uptick in “fan of” adoptions. Psyche! At least Poe’s now-known pedophile bitch ass occasionally chimed in as it pertained to the Canucks.
I love Boston media “Even though there was some fatigue stemming from the Bruins’ trip out west” 3 game road trip out west for Boston, last game being on Sunday. This was Seattle’s 6th game on the road, including back to back games on Monday and Tuesday.
Seravalli asked a tremendous question on his Podcast today, that being which franchise makes the playoffs first, the Canucks or Flyers? His reason for those two teams is they spent a large portion of the last 20 or so years being reasonably competitive, and now both teams are going nowhere with ownership that has no desire to rebuild. It seems logical to pick Vancouver because they have more talent, but they cannot get out of their own way, but man I just don’t know which I’d pick.
Their pod has fallen out of my rotation. I'll listen if the title piques my interest or im caught up on everything else. idk why but Seravalli kind of rubs me the wrong way. He's so bitchy about everything.
I listen far less than I use to, and I agree he’s become very whiny. He still does break news which is nice but it seems like they have gone with PTI style format for the podcast and it’s annoying.
I mean, it seems like they're going to have to consider offloading Horvat because their cap situation is fucked up beyond repair and he's approaching UFA.
Rangers fans heard all about his checkered character during his stint with us, so it was always surprising when Canucks fans were trying to pawn him off to us. This was inevitable once he got paid.
IMO Philly. And the main reason is because they've drafted so poorly over the last several years that they'll likely be bad enough to fall face first into one or more of Bedard, Fantili, Hagens, Misa, Eiserman, Michkov, Celebrini, etc. in the next 3 drafts. Vancouver with Pettersson, Hughes, and Kuzmenko will be just not quite bad enough to land one or more of those guys.
Semi-related topic with both of these teams: Does anyone else wonder if changes need to be made to the current UFA structure? Almost every long term UFA deal ends horrifically in the last few years of the contract, and I can't help but think a big part of that is the 7 or 27 rule, which leads to most players not getting a chance at their big pay day until they've already started heading down the other side of the parabola on their career. I don't have a great solution other than "GMs, stop being fucking morons" but when the issue is this wide-spread, you start to wonder if there's a systemic issue.
Ehh. Rfa’s are getting paid. Only thing that needs to change is teams actually using the offer sheet.
Covid also really messed up the economics of those deals. If it wasn’t for a completely unprecedented global pandemic, the cap might be $5m+ higher right now and a lot of the last couple years of these deals wouldn’t look so bad. The Trouba contract, for example, was certainly structured with the expectation that the cap would be considerably higher right now.
Granted that deal sucks anyway because Trouba sucks. But the economics of it made way more sense with a higher cap expectation right now.
Had a panthers fan with a straight face say that the panthers should trade Barkov for Trouba and Laf. He also thinks the team needs more grit.
Oops: “This could be a mistake on our part. That’s on me if he turns out to be really successful. But we thought we tried him in a lot of different places, different areas. We were really hoping that we would get him through on waivers so that we could play him in Milwaukee a little bit and then bring him back up. We had to make some decisions... And again, he’s doing well, good for him. And we’ve been doing better — not necessarily because of him, but because we’ve gone in a direction with different types of players.” In regards to Eeli Tolvanen, who currently has 4 goals and 2 assists with the Kraken in 7 games
Was looking up her professional team in women’s extraliga, there’s a 13 year old and a 47 year old on the team. 47 year old has two daughters on the team. Nela has 25 points in 6 games. Another 14 year old has 22 points
(1560) With the Blackhawks down 6-1 in the first period, Alex Stalock gets a standing ovation for his first save of the game : hockey (reddit.com)
I think Minnesota had to make this deal, even though it is going to make managing the Cap that much more difficult.
I assumed they would go with the bridge route because of the cap situation, but if you get through that okay, I definitely like it for the Wild long term. Greenway seems to be losing the patience of the coaching staff and front office, so wouldn't be surprised to see him moved, and Dumba's contract will come off the books as well with Brock Faber likely taking his place when he's done with the Gophers. That will help out a bit, but still, the bottom 6 will have to be stocked with entry level deals for the most part the next couple of years.
They've done well in locking up guys early to get lower AAV's than they are worth. Kaprizov at $9 million and Eriksson Ek at $5.25 million stand out. Finding out that Filip Gustavsson has actually been an upgrade so far over Cam Talbot has been a nice bonus, too.
