How a guy that looks like that is entrusted to motivate elite athletes is beyond me but I guess Hitchcock was a pretty good coach for a while too
at that stage the motivation comes from getting more ice time. The rah rah stuff is completely played out for these guys. they will play for a coach that helps them win and get another contract. But it’s definitely a thing, guys naturally respect a coach like brin d’amour or berube But only if they are good coaches. Guys like Hitchcock, tortorella (he is a midget) and trotz have to earn the respect.
Horvat seeing Hughes with the puck and gunning it out of the zone was great awareness. So risky from both players, but god damn.
these guys are so good, nobody really made a big mistake on that play and it still ends up in your net. Nhl players are ridiculously good. Whenever I sit down and watch a few games it blows my mind. and it was not risky at all, that’s what makes this play so great by hughes. It’s a breakaway or an icing. Reward is huge, risk is a faceoff in your zone. Great decision, great execution.
More referring to Horvat making his rush. Pass could have easily been picked off if not played to perfection by Hughes.
You've only witnessed like 4 champions league titles in your under 30 years on this earth, I feel terrible for you
Trotz hockey isn’t the most entertaining product but that 3-4 minute segment before the clutterbuck goal was it personified. I’d expect the Caps to come out on fire Sunday - The Isles don’t have enough talent to get into an up and down game so they need to stay disciplined.
well, you took out like our 2nd or 3rd best player, we're not very good right now. Depth is shit and Kempny has to be the worst 1st line defender in the league
According to NBC, the Blackhawks have hit the post more times (12) than ARI (0), STL (0), MIN (0), VAN (1), CAR/DAL/EDM/TB/WAS (2 each) combined so far in the bubble
Very strange. You can’t cite safety because obviously there have no been positive cases. Home sickness I guess
Does Boston have anything in the pipe after him? He’s only got one year left on his deal and I’m sure this won’t help his cause for getting another contract
Yeah, he just didn’t want to play. I doubt he is the only one, but he is the only one that has actually said it out loud. Boston fans and media are gonna lose it, they already have a love-hate relationship with Rask.
I mean honestly, I don’t blame Rask. These guys have already been gone what, two weeks? And whoever goes to the SCF will be in the bubble hbt the first week of October. That’s a long fucking time.
I'm very pro-player but he knew all of this when he entered. Do it before to not screw the team. It's not a covid concern since it's clearly safer in the bubble than out I think he's done in Boston
You don't blame him for leaving his team in the middle of the playoffs because he has to stay at adult summer camp for a couple of months if they win the stanley cup?
It sounds like he has a daughter that was just born before he entered the bubble. The guys already won a cup and made millions of dollars. I wouldn’t be shocked if he thought he could handle being away, but at a certain point I think it’s understandable to just cut bait and leave.
I am by no means a Rask defender, but it’s easy to say in July that leaving your family for two plus months won’t a problem. I think it’s totally different once you’re there in the thick of it. If he was leery at all about leaving he should have stayed put, but hockey culture is about shutting your mouth and just dealing with it. I think there are players on every team still in the bubble that probably felt forced into going to save face.
Its 6-8 weeks at the most and thats only for 2 teams. Rask has been gone for less than a month. Acting like they got deployed is a bit over the top
