Nice uniform but they should get no credit because these should have been their uniforms from the beginning.
Dubas seems to be 1 for 3 in negotiations. I think he and Matthews did right by each other but he blinked on Nylander and Marner. Boy wonder still has a ways to go.
Worst sweaters in franchise history. So bad, they're good, I guess Time to ask my mom to send me my old Ian Laperriere jersey
Are we also adjusting for endorsement opportunities available in Canada, the double conversion of currency that benefits players on Canadian teams?
Endorsements take time and work. Getting 10% more salary because your team is located in a certain state doesn’t, so no, we are not.
Don't mind the cap hit, but going 7 years makes me a bit nervous. His game should age pretty well, but he's also had his battles with injuries.
What endorsements? McDavid, a couple guys in Toronto and Price in Montreal would be the only ones who make any real extra money from putting their names on shit.
guess the rationale is the new TV money, maybe new streams from gambling partnerships, will change dynamics of league $....so better to draw up a new CBA then.
Pretty bold by the players. Could easily see Bettman being an idiot and saying, see you in 3 years instead of agreeing to keep negotiating some tweaks to the current CBA
He's worth what Marner got, but he'll probably end up getting a million less or so. Best U24 winger in the league. Analytically, he drives the Avs top line as much as Mackinnon does.
Speaking of goalie prospects, I was watching the Devils stream to check out Hughes, but Keyser stole the show for the Bruins in net. Looked really good.
Boeser signs at just south of 6 million AAV for 3 years. Both sides should probably be happy with that tbh. Boeser gets to renegotiate right after the new TV deals/CBA kicks in, and Vancouver gets help slipping under the cap in the short term. (And he's still an RFA at that point)
"I swear if someone just told Jim Benning to go drink in the Bahamas for the first week of UFA every year and not worry about making any signings in those few days, he'd be a pretty damn good GM."
https://www.tsn.ca/winnipeg-jets-rf...op-lines-and-then-there-is-our-line-1.1366854 Laine really not making it seem like he wants to stay in Winnipeg. Pretty bluntly throwing his teammates/coaches under the bus, too.
Wasn't really random tbh. He was playing on the second line pretty much the entire year until near the end when the Jets gave him a 15 game cameo on the first with Wheeler and Scheifele. (During which he had a 10 game goal-less drought and the top line's corsi dropped by 5%) Ehlers being hurt and renting Hayes just caused some shuffling with his linemates.
Top box https://www.hockeyviz.com/fixedImg/playerOverview/1819/WPG/lainepa98/wrap Ehlers got hurt at the mid point of the season, so they moved Roslo up to the 2nd line to play with he and little and sent Connor to the top line. Cameo with the top line after that, then the Hayes rental.
That is fantastic. Why is this guy in a game against Matthews? 8th year pro, 8 points in 43 games as a forward in the A last year. https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Scott_Sabourin
