I swear I read that NHL Network was its own entity and would even increase games that air on the network.
I just looked it up. The league owns about 85% of the network and NBC owns 15%. so I guess the league is doing most of the heavy lifting (which explains the quality) and NBC isn't doing much else. wouldn't be surprised if NBC was bought out at some point and another partner like Disney stepped in going forward.
NHL network is a part of MLB network I believe so whatever that falls under I don't know. NBC always did their separate thing for the draft and all that when NHL network was simulcasting TSN/Sportsnet
Nope, you're thinking of MLB Advanced Media, which is a different entity and not one that provides ownership. It's a resource
This is seriously amazing news for hockey fans. The league is going to have network partners that value marketing stars. Now they just need to let these guys come out of their shell.
Sounds like a good deal. Nice little infusion into the pool to help offset the losses over the last year. And in a few years when my team needs to start paying its players it’s nice to know the teams we trade these players to will have the capacity to pay them.
There is likely no cable package in the country that has NBCSN and not TNT There are cable packages that have TNT and not NBSCN
this stars - preds battle for the last spot in the central is going to come down to like the last game
From what I read, pretty good. No points, but played top 6 and led the team in xgf%. His 200 foot play will make or break his career, so the fact that he didn’t get hemmed in his own end and actually controlled play is a good sign imo
pretty good, the chemistry is not there yet with his teammates but once they start to find him around the ice he should be able to score a few. He had a few good shot, you can tell his release is elite.
So Turner will have roughly two games a week. I feel like they will get a dedicated night on TNT with another game streaming every week.
I just realized I can probably go back to looking at points and not points % since everyone is probably getting their games in.
Also, I have to think the true Road to the Winter Classic returns to HBO. Really though, they should do a full season docuseries like Amazon has done. The league needs to get their stars out there like that. I know it’s easier said than done with NHL players, but go follow Vegas around for a season.
Same here. 2018 dropped from 2 to 4 ( landed Tkachuk so that’s pretty good ) 2919 dropped last to 4th ( gave up pick in Duchene deal.. Makar ) 2020 dropped from 2 to 5 ( pick was Sanderson who looks pretty solid ) Ok so not as bad as Detroit or Vancouver.
Detroit plays Tampa x3, Carolina, and Columbus x3 to finish up. Columbus is only 2 points back. Top 5 is easily achievable.
Islander cross checks tom Wilson’s and breaks his stick in half and the refs don’t call anything. Ridiculous
