It’s probably better in the long run but it stinks right now.
usually my go to line when my gf whines after I took a shit.
the no tax states will be forced into broader no move clauses if they are getting AAV cap hit benefits
I guess Nashville has been the exception but they did give one to Josi
How could anyone negotiate versus a face like this?
Obviously the first tweet is key, but you have to think teams are trying
So this is a good deal in a vacuum for the Canucks, but adding a 29 year old with a heart 6 mil cap hit for several more years seems problematic with some of the other deals on the books.
man fuck Chuck Fletcher.
They’re basically going to have to give up a first to get someone to eat the last year of Loui’s deal.
And that’s how they will recoup any draft picks they need.
What a steal
They’re getting 10.5M off the hook from Sutter and Edler after this year, and 16M from Eriksson, Beagle and Roussel after next year. Just gotta make it work for this season and they’ll be fine after.
Schmidt, Holtby, and Beagle
They have to pay Petterson and Hughes next year. Even if they do bridge deals, those are going to be 6 + AAV minimum for both guys.
Also, Colorado is still the favorite in the West. The moves they made were done without impacting any of their depth. As good as Pete is, you’re losing some value by giving up a top 4 D to fit him under the cap.
They’re gonna have to make a choice, for sure. Buying out the last year on Loui’s deal might just be enough. Don’t think it’s as dire as it seems.
Problem is, they’re probably going to need 25 for Pettersson, Hughes, and Demko by the end of next season. (Unless they bridge one of more of them)
Yeah they will manage, but they are operating with one arm tied behind their back.
Forgot about Demko.
I forgot to make this joke earlier
Congrats to Colorado for having the conferences best Toews.
what’s Nate’s contract?
Russian players have a pretty good track record here in Tampa especially the goalies. Keep staying away.
Montreal reportedly tried to get Point to sign one last year before he declined and they moved onto Aho. The most obvious target would be Sergachev, but his best friends are on the team so I'd be surprised if he signed one. For Cirelli I guess it'd depend on who would give him one. He's probably content being the second line center on the defending champs, I'm guessing it'd take another contender to give him one for him to consider and maybe accept. I like Cernak, but don't think it'd be worth it for a team to give him one since he doesn't bring much offense. I think he's propped up a bit by the fact the left side here is a #1/2 d on every shift. I don't have any sources(a friend knew Callahan so I'd get some info from him but not anymore) so it's just my two cents.
IHHH and his bigotry at it again
russians are the best
IHHH dont you love radulov
he’s his “black friend”
I think I have explained my point here about Russians before, it’s not like I think Russians are bad people or less driven. They are just different. It’s hard to explain really. And I never blame a Russian wh9 goes back and make a lot of money in the khl. It’s comfortable for them. It’s home
I will just drop it, you guys will never get it and you don’t want to understand it anyway
My kingdom for a Cirelli offersheet.
i love radu, love Markov, love kovalev
I loved Alex riasantsev. Loved Sasha Materhukin even though he was so weird
That gives them a lot more time to clear space into the season
lehner isn’t even that good
that’s a contract that’s going to fuck vegas
Russian players actually have personalities, which drives the old boys club in hockey nuts.
Would offer 7 and not think twice.
He’s a close to PPG player with 2-3 more minutes per game on the power play IMO and one of the best young defensive centers in the league. First, second, and third for that is likely a rip off.
it’s the other way around, they are completely focused on hockey. They are here for one reason and it’s to make money playing hockey. Russian players rarely show their personality, they are just not shy about why they are playing hockey. The Canadian ideal is always to make it look like we would all play hockey for free and that is stupid.
In the 35 years I’ve been alive, three of biggest personalities in hockey have been Fedorov, Ovechkin and Bryzgalov.
Datsyuk had quite a personality too if you actually read some of the stuff he said once it was translated.
Ovechkin has no personality, he just drinks like a fish. I will give you bryzgalov
You guys are trying to kill me
Kucherov never shows much personality but as soon as the buzzer hit 0:00 two weeks ago he's acted like a maniac. It's hilarious.
radulov and khudobin have the biggest personalities on the stars by far
Kovalev had a personality, fetisov is one of the better leader ever.
Ovechkin is the best goal scorer ever, I have no bias but we also need to be honest
aka they couldn’t find a taker on a trade for him
You’re on some crazy shit tonight even by your standards
