This game is stupid sometimes, not trying to compare cause it’s obviously not the same but in my beer league when the guys are playing fast and sharp we are so much better. We needed to get our shit pushed in to start playing. And I was awful on the 3 games so far, won one but not because of me. I am playing at a beer league Matt Murray level right now, and I might be concussed or not.
I know nothing about this stupid game. But really I don’t like him as a prospect because of his skating, but that’s not his job. He skates well enough to do everything a power forward has to do. Happy mtl passed on him, not sure I like kotkaniemi yet, I wanted Hughes. Between kotkaniemi and tkachuk I would not know who to pick yet, kotkaniemi is almost a year younger.

It amazed me at the time of the draft there were many fans who ripped the pick. Seriously? You have a crystal? Especially if you’re a Sens fan... you’d think you know the need for skill and grit is what this team really needs.
Guys like him are never a sexy pick for the fans, they want upside and star potential. Aside from dhalin and the Russian tkachuk is the safest pick in the draft. He will be a good nhler and there was never a doubt about that, just how good and how will he compare to the guys that pan out? But it was a good pick by the sens.
Sens knew Montreal wasn’t taking Zadina, and they weren’t either. They were concerned Montreal was going to grab Tkachuk. If that was the case they were prepared to then give Colorado their pick.
Zadina is going to bust imo, wish mtl picked Hughes. Kotkaniemi will be a player though so I am ok with it. I have to say that I was impressed by tkachuk when I watched the game on Wednesday, he had a couple goals and an assist but his game around the net was elite. He is incredible around the net, not just at deflecting pucks or being a presence in front of the goalie, he knows how to move the puck quickly. Always killed me how many players panick in close, that guy doesn’t have this issue. He will be great in the playoffs
BU was crazy young last year and sucked for the first half of the season IIRC, so he didn't put up a ton of points and it became a popular "hot take" that he was really overrated. I thought that was kinda weird considering his status as a top prospect was always based more on tools that would translate well at the NHL level than having dominant numbers at the junior level anyway.
He reminds me of a few guys that were very good in juniors, very productive junior players but never cut it in the nhl. But he also reminds me a lot of a kucherov or brad Richards. Productive players that are not overly fast or not elite at anything except from hockey sense. Always tough to measure how hockey sense will translate to the nhl from juniors. Makes sense? I think zadina will either be a kucherov style and will need to be put in that position can’t expect him to be a complete player. He needs to be handled carefully
