Ive mentioned this before, but I worked at a car wash in HS that Q would come to. Always the nicest guy. Good tipper too.
Yea taking a break to recharge the batteries would be my approach. Reevaluate all the situations because he will get his pick of jobs. But given that he just lost what was likely a bitter, nasty internal fight with Bowman for control of the Blackhawks, essentially he (wrongly) takes the blame for Bowman giving out bad contracts that everyone knew would age poorly, I could see his ego/competitiveness driving him to get back to coaching quickly.
I don't think the Panthers are willing to take the risk of more media backlash for firing a coach after less then two years.
I think he will want a Veteran core already in place. He does not take well to coaching young guys, but perhaps that was just limited to the Chicago situation. St Louis would be another ideal situation for him. Im sure after this Bowman friction the Owner/GM situation will be paramount.
1. That's really cool to hear he was a really nice guy. (Seriously) 2. I realized the only reason I wouldn't think that is because he has one of the biggest cases of resting asshole face I've ever seen.
He's a very unassuming guy. No ego, very chatty. Pretty much your stereotypical pleasant to be around canadian. Basically the opposite of IHHH At least he was like that to a teenager that dried off his car every few weeks. Ive heard similar impressions of him around Chicago too.
He would occasionally drop into a few of the bars/restaurants in the Downers Grove area. I never ran into him, but ppl said he was great.
When I saw the NSFW tag, I thought we were going to get another of Pierre's unintentional sexual innuendos. That was much better.
this came across my facebook feed today. the only thing I can focus on is how bad the goaltending was. I kept waiting for him to challenge Lemieux or try and match speed somehow and he just stood there and let Mario skate around him for the easiest goal in history.
Connor McDavid would have 400 points in a season if goalies were still like this Watch this shit at the 1:50 mark. How did anyone not score on a breakaway in the 80's?
Brutal. Goalies trying to make kick saves on shots from the blueline. Back in the day tho coaches would scream and shout get up, stand up as soon as a keeper went down and made a save. I remember my buddies playing on a good team that had an amazing goalie who stopped everything. But he would go down to do it. Coaches hated it. Next year kid was cut for this donkey who was a “stand up goalie”. Team went to shit.
