He’s a top 10-15 D in the league now. He’s 21 and doesn’t turn 22 until the playoff next year. 8x10 would be a steal.
Just starting an 8x8 deal this season at 30 and is going to miss the majority of the last 2 seasons with injuries
Between Chicago, Arizona, Montreal, and Philly this is the strongest season of tank contenders I have seen in a while
A prospect who struggled to establish himself for a 1st rounder is a pretty big W imo. Imo Dallas is a bubble team so this could really pay off with a 10-15 pick.
Good value for the Rangers. Rare to even get a 1st rounder back in these scenarios. Nils has legit top 4 potential though. He was simply blocked by better players in our system.
good trade for both teams imo which is pretty rare in hockey He was unlikely to break into the top 4 for NY for years with Fox/Trouba/Miller/Lindgren but is a good young player.
Wouldn’t call the biggest contract in the sport team friendly, but he definitely left money on the table.
When the cap goes up it’ll be a very team friendly deal. Seravalli was saying he heard it get as high as 15 mil AAV. I would have guessed at least something starting with a 13 at a minimum.
That's every star that re-signs with their current team. Barkov would have gotten 13+ on the open market this year. Huby Was projected to get 9.5 to stay in florida and made Calgary pay 10.5 to keep him.
In a bankruptcy scenario, a buyer of the RSNs also could decide to reject existing broadcast rights contracts that are too expensive and arrange for cheaper deals, sources said. With some teams getting up to 30% of their revenue from RSN rights, a prospective bankruptcy could hit team payrolls, insiders claimed. The leagues won’t let it get to that point, which is why I presume the leagues just buy the RSN’s. We don’t need another reason for the NHL to not raise the cap.
leagues/teams controlling more makes sense. Personally I would let them go bankrupt and then start a streaming offer for just the local team at a reasonable enough amount that enough people would jump on board. Some of the RSNs aren’t available in close to all homes as is.
