the rest of the story is crazy also, but chelios fighting in a chicago bar might not have anything to do with fans.
If it’s 99% of other 34 year old guys, yeah makes sense. But when the guy is your captain and is going to retire at the top of pretty much every category in your franchise’s history, there should have been some discussion already.
I can see that. But the lightning are going to do the best thing for the team. Not the emotional thing.
Nostalgia is what turns 5 year rebuilds into 10. I think Tampa would 100% be doing the right thing, but I'm surprised it seems like they're actually willing to.
I mean if stamkos is willing to take a 4 year deal in like the 7.5-8m range, you do it in a heart beat. But I’d guess he wants 5+ years
You don’t know until you have talk with his agent. If there’s not much progress in talks at this point, fine but not having any discussions is very odd. I’m not saying give him whatever he wants just that there should’ve been preliminary talks to see where both sides are at.
Think I’d have more love for Hedman or Vas if I was a Tampa fan but maybe I’m wrong Tampa also seem in a different position than Caps or Penguins, they can actually compete and still a very good core
24 hours and I've now seen Kane and Zegras to Buffalo rumors. at this point, it is no longer fun to think of Kane as a Sabres
Reportedly Zegras and Anaheim both want a 3 year bridge, but Anaheim was offering 3-4 million AAV, which seems stupid and is why he still isn't signed. Anaheim has cap space and isn't anywhere close to competing. Seems like they're alienating their best young player and playing serious hardball for no reason. They just gave 34 year old Alex Kilorn 6.2x4 and he scored less last season on a much better team.
it’s a little easy to find some of them. The ones not wearing the pride shirts plus ovechkin and malkin obviously
naw, that's just one incredible play. He fakes like hes cutting towards the center of the ice and uses the spinorama to completely change directions on a dime. If that's McDavid making that play, the D-man doesn't catch shit, it's just a stick tap to McDavid. Incredible skating ability by Cooley.
It's new/fresh with a good color scheme. Like the Vegas logo I'm sure it'll drop off after a few years.
The secondary logo is a lot better this is the correct answer. Anything new as long as it doesn't completely suck will get love.
From a few days ago but just in terms of the community Stamkos is much more visible than Hedman/Vasy. He made a ton of money selling his home on Davis Island (where Brady, Jeter, etc lived) to move to another one. Bolts played hardball in 2016 (time fucking flies) and Stammer came back and agreed to a previous offer, I assume it'll be the same sort of hardball. https://thetampabay100.com/real-est...-stamkos-purchases-8m-davis-island-home/17246
If he wants to retire as a Bolt they need to make it happen. But not at any cost. If Stamkos can’t handle that fact then he’s free to try and get Toronto to pay up again.
Annual complaint that there shouldn't be roster limits during the pre-season. If teams want to dress 25 players, let them. No reason teams should be forced to play shorthanded if/when someone gets hurt.
Yeah, Stamkos is still very good, but at his age he could fall off a cliff as soon as this year or next. Virtually everyone does around that time. Between Point, Cirelli, Kuch, Hagel, Sergachev, and Cernak, (And Vasy, depending on how well he ages) they could keep their window open for another 5 or so years. The only thing that could fuck it up is anchor contracts to guys like Hedman and Stamkos. If he’s not willing to take a discount the smart thing to do is let him walk, as much as I’m sure the fans would hate it.
Unless he get's injured again, I see Stamkos having a Pavelski like twilight of his career. Still a good top 6 player, but clearly needs to be sheltered a bit with favorable matchups at 5 on 5 and lots of PP time where he shines.
Sens moved Chabot to the right to play with Chychrun this year. Both left handed shots so I think DJ is just trying to get them minutes together in new roles. Last night was a summer league level effort from both teams.
I get that, but it's still bizarre to see playoff type deployment for the 1st/2nd pre-season game of the year.
