if I had basically limitless money and a disease nobody could find an effective treatment for, I'd be doing weird shit too.
In all seriousness, kind of cool to see a former player following an atypical path, an atypical path that doesn’t involve right-wing politics and conspiracy theories*. *reserving the right to edit this post in the future if things change
I actually was gonna make a joke about looking forward to his podcast where it starts off as boasting about alternative medicine, eastern philosophy and morphs into an RFK style "government health regulations are bad, actually" and eventually supporting fascist leaders. The Russell Brand path.
I don't care what they do expansionwise as long as they don't go down the fucking play-in playoff route. If you want 16 of 40 in the playoffs go ahead There's not enough talent to support it but have fun
a fracture to his left tibula is not a complete fracture but yeah. And I hope he takes the time to recover. The record can wait a year
To be fair, a hockey skate is like a short walking boot which is what you get for most lower fib breaks
Noesen is a pretty cool story. Not a full time NHL'er until he was 29. Finally gets a payday at 31, and now has 10 goals in 22 games.
the first goal in the sequence is one of the worst goals I've ever seen defensively. this was not a steal, this was a breakout going right to left on our screen here
just looked at it and it was a clear bust on a guy but also a strategy in the nhl now to pressure the puck. It’s like a zone system where a guy will be responsible for a zone and then become man to man. People in mtl are losing their minds over it because players get confused but the benefits are better when they get it down and communicate well
It’s like a hybrid zone in football maybe? You play zone and then you get the man in your zone and people adjust on the fly
But that puck was moving weird, that is when you just block it. Fleury being fleury he tried something
He was a really solid depth guy during the Taylor Hall hart season then had a ton of injuries before bouncing back in Carolina also
Man it looks like Kaprizov may have suffered a bad leg injury after a knee to knee. Edit - saw the injury on the timeline but he’s back it appears. Good news because it looked bad.
Irishlax's normal sky is falling posts regarding Zibanejad might actually not be super off base this year.
i think he was calling the dispatch guy from tv(probably not the right word) Mike. You can tell the production was not really sharp
One of the worst lists I've ever seen: https://www.tsn.ca/nhl/jumpin-jack-flash-hughes-tops-tsn-s-top-50-under-24-players-1.2208009 Spoiler 1)Jack Hughes 2)Bedard 3)Celebrini 4)Stutzle 5) Power 6) Faber 7) Michkov 8) Caufield 9) Seider 10)Demidov 11) Sanderson 12)Nikiskin 13) Johnston 14) Carlsson 15) Hughes luke 16) smith 17)leonard 18) Levushenov 19)Buium 20) Boldy 21) Raymond 22) Fantilli 23) Lafreniere 24) Wolf 25) Slafkovsky 26) Jarvis 27) Hutson 28) Gauthier 29) Stankoven 30) Dickenson 31) Harley 32) Parekh 33) Askarov 34) Clark 35) Cooley 36) Knies 37) Guenther 38) Mctavish 39) Augusitine 40) Fowler 41) Sennecke 42) Lindstrom 43) Mateychuk 44) Cowan 45) Iginla 46)Guhle 47) Mintukov 48) Willander 49) Catton 50) McMicheal -I think if you're being generous to Caufield, (I would personally take all of them above him) you could say he's in the same tier as Boldy, Jarvis, and Raymond. It makes no sense that he's far above them. -Like half the list is based on potential/ceiling, and the other half is proven production.
Ellen Hughes is the best. I’m sure she’s very happy with her life but considering her past broadcasting experience as well it would be great if ESPN/TNT had a role available. Could listen to her talk about hockey all day
When does Ottawa consider trading Tkachuck? Guys basically losing his mind every third game — it feels like keeping him as captain is untenable. Stripping him of the C is just going to make the situation that much worse. Seems like a powder keg that will blow at some point.
It does feel like some major trade is a matter of time. This core isn't getting it done and they don't have the cap flexibility to make any major changes without dropping significant salary. Though the weird part is this year they're actually a pretty damn good 5v5 team. They're just not getting saves or finishing. (2nd from last in 5v5 PDO)
One of the biggest joys of my fandom life was witnessing the Kings beating the Sharks after being down 3-0 in the series on the way to the ‘14 Cup, but I will always lose it at shit like this…
