I saw the bannister news and thought they'd hire Montgomery. Didnt realize it would be right away lmao
I usually skip the DFO Podcast because I cant stand Seravelli. But listened today to see what they said about Montgomery. I really cant stand Seravelli.
I'd imagine Kreider would have some takers. Trouba would be really difficult. It would take a ton of futures to one of only a couple teams with the cap space, or eating half. But does saving 4 million in cap space to get him out make you better?
Trouba’s NTC also sounds like it’s structured in a way that the only approved teams are cap strapped because his wife is in her residency in NY and he doesn’t want to relocate
He's also just a smug prick. His scale is basically unless youre a HOFer , you suck at hockey or if your team isnt a SC contender, they're awful.
The Rangers hit their ceiling last year. They need to find ways to move Mika (who might have the worst contract in the league), Trouba, and Lindgren. l get moving Kreider because you’ll probably need to package him to make the above look somewhat worthwhile. But he’s not technically part of the issue for NYR.
tbh I really respect a player having a team by the balls contract-wise when it's so often the other way around
Again, that’s a reason why I’d rather just move on from him. Why have a $12m+ goaltender on contract during a rebuild?
Assuming Trouba is willing to go to a non-contender, there’s going to be a team willing to take him on to be a “culture changer.” See CBJ, NYI, Philly.
I think Rox was implying that Trouba structured his NTC so that all the rebuilding teams like those listed with the space to add him were on his NTC, and the ones that weren't don't have any space.
I mean it looks like he was choking him out. And the refs didnt do anything until the guy started tapping
never seen a guy tap out on the ice before. a true #hockeyguy would have gone to sleep before he tapped.
Would need to see how it started. Based on that clip I’m guessing the other guy was the aggressor and the guy didn’t want to fight. I don’t think that was a tap as in I’m choking but rather the standard hockey tap in a scrum of “alright I’m done”
Were they just 100% set on sending him down, where he could be claimed, and trying to get anything for him instead? A 4th rounder 3 drafts from now is about as close to future considerations as it gets and he was making league minimum. Just seems like a desperate move.
He’s been on the ice for 10 of the last 12 goals against for the Rangers. Then these two wonderful shifts tonight. Useless hockey player.
"Police said Bissonnette, who played for the Phoenix Coyotes from 2009-14, tried to help management calm three men who were in an altercation with Houston’s management by getting them to leave. The men then assaulted Bissonnette “inside and outside” the restaurant around 7:30 p.m., according to police."
Like the Islanders could do anything that resembles a competent team. Their 3rd period goal differential is -13 at this point.
This was the slump I expected, I just thought it would come earlier. Team has scored first I feel like in most all of the games but just doesn’t have the level of play or defensive depth for full 60 right now. After 2 runs to the finals playing a crazy aggressive forechecking style I had to think there’d be an early slump. but I don’t think there’s much concern other than the defensive depth. they didn’t have much depth there last year either. But they play team defense when things are clicking. it’s very classic panthers though to go on a 7 game win streak and then give it all right back immediately.
Listened to chiclets today bc of Marek and man I missed him. Just the best in the business at talking about actual hockey. Hope his new pod is good.
It's one day from US thanksgiving, and I don't know what's more ridiculous- that the Avalanche have a team .854 save percentage, or that they're still 2 games over .500 even with it.
