Makes sense. MacKinnon got 15% of the cap, Mikko wants the same. Lol at “we have an internal hard cap”
Didn't end up mattering, but the refs in the Wild-Blackhawks game had an atrocious icing call that wiped away a Marcus Foligno empty net goal.
Don’t let Canada media gaslight you into calling it American Thanksgiving. The pilgrims weren’t hanging out in Medicine Hat
i am of this opinion also. I always make sure everyone at work understands that i showed up just out of common decency but I am out before 2 pm, i identify as an American every time thanksgiving comes around. Today I left work at 1:15 pm
i am always a stiff for desperate saves (usually they come from the goalie being out of place) but that one is worthy, great effort
There's probably going to be one or two "shocker" picks for all these teams bc we know how it goes with the guys that put them together. Pick your superstars and then start filling in roles. I'm betting we see Brock Nelson and or Tuch on the US because they're big and they PK.
obviously I'm biased, but I think Konecny is perfect for a bottom 6 role on a team of superstars. Sanheim is logging huge minutes and he's been great for the Flyers, but I don't think he'd be in my top 6 dmen for Canada.
These are always interesting to me because of the outliers. Some really great players on here that are slow skaters and vice versa.
NYR decided to sunset their stupid “No Quit in NY” marketing slogan prior to this season and now it appears that there is in fact quit in NY.
“Old school” hockey guys SUCK. Glad we got guys like Hughes/Matthews/etc making fun of these dinosaurs
One of the dumbest individuals to ever hold a microphone, his highlight reel of clips is one of the most mind boggling things you will ever see
I don't think you even blame "old school hockey guys" for that one. that's just pure stupidity. I've never heard anyone say anything like that before. that move has existed for like 30 years and nobody has ever gotten in a fight over it.
I just saw that clip and was coming to post it. I am by definition an old school hockey guy and I disagree with a lot of you in this thread THAT is the dumbest thing ever said and I can't even find his angle on it.
If he’s leaving it’s to go somewhere to win a Cup. It’s hard to say right now who those teams would be without knowing the cap situations.
From all Rangers insiders, their long term gameplan was always to make a run at him or Eichel once they hit UFA. With Panarin, Kreider, Trouba, etc off the books, it makes sense. Just going to be a really weird road to get there. And also even weirder if neither hit the market.
This is probably a lot of teams plan but I really don’t think he’s going to the highest bidder. He will need money, sure. But I highly doubt he’s going to any team he thinks won’t be able to compete immediately for a Cup.
You know what, I think a team like San Jose could be the front runner to get McDavid. Plenty of assets to trade for him if needs. Tons of cap space. Lots of young guys on ELC and ready to win.
