just a complete lack of respect for future all star goalie Jake Oettinger you hate to see this type of posting from a vet
Funny how it goes, I don’t know a lot about matheson but thought hornqvist is pretty much done. Everybody here thinks Pitt got got. I am listening to a podcast with a few former nhl players and they all think Pitt got the better of this trade easily. Will be interesting to see how that goes
thought so too, I got confused between lines. Of course gourde was not playing with the fourth but the third. And you would have to be an idiot to break up that line
this game reminds me of the game they let the avs score like 48 in one period god seguin is such an overrated and overpaid fuck seguin and pavelski both missed such easy goals
The funny thing is Dallas completely dominated Tampa in the first period, Tampa just happen to get two goals and weathered the storm... then in second period they just took Dallas out back to the woodshed
the stars either have a win at all costs mentality or i’m going to pack it in at the slightest bit of adversity mentality no real in between at all that’s why in the colorado series the avs beat their ass or the stars won close games
That Hedman goal at the beginning of the period just completely took the life out of them and it was obvious.
Still buzzing about this goal. One of the nicest, most humble, hardest working guys in the game. Has had such bad injury luck. Even if we don’t see him again in this series, he played and more importantly he contributed. That will mean the world to him. Been in the bubble away from his family for 2 months, rehabbing his ass off and not even being able to play. Heck he couldn’t practice until about a week ago. We’ve heard a lot of teams who left the bubble a month ago say how hard it was. the flyers player coming back from cancer was and will be the top feel good moment of the playoffs when it’s all said and done but this one was special as well.
You really get a sense of how massive Hedman is when they show him in the tunnel with his teammates before the game. It’s hilarious.
Hornqvist is done. But he’s on a 3 year deal while Matheson is on a 6 year deal. The talent is where for Matheson, but his peewee level hockey IQ holds him back. For every gif worth full ice rush that creates a scoring chance, there are 20 catastrophic turnovers that lead to a premium scoring chance against. the panthers win this trade today by cutting 6 years of bad money to 3.
Just reading 28min per game makes me a little dizzy. That’s insane, these Swedes are always so in shape. Except Nicklas backstrom
to be fair on that the 5 OT game boosts that almost 2 min/game. Plus multiple other OT and double OT games. surprisingly he only played 21 min in game 2 with it close. Played only 21 last night but that makes more sense with the score line. I think cooper senses how important he is offensively with the killorn/Cirelli/Johnson line incapable of scoring at the moment and stamkos out or barely in so he’s keeping hedman fresher to impact offensively more. I was still surprised that his TOI has gone down since we switched back to 6 D. You’d think it would be the opposite.
makes sense, these guys probably overrate him because they were on the ice with him and apparently his skating is very good. They think he will figure it out, but who knows
His skating is elite. It’s tantalizing to watch him skate with the puck for 2 seconds. Then he turns it over.
Good news: Pittsburgh is going to be absolute dogshit after Crosby and Malkin retire. Bad news: Purgatory until Crosby and Malkin retire.
my gut says no way, but do Pens fans think Crosby would ever look for a way out if got to the point of missing the playoffs?
No. Too close to Lemieux, for one. Odds are that Pittsburgh gets bounced in the first round again next year and Rutherford gets canned. New GM has to come in and play damage control, so basically what happened when Shero was fired and everyone thought Pittsburgh was done then. Sullivan is 50/50, though I like him as a coach. The issue is that NHL coaches have shelf lives.
