Is there something else to this? Suspension for what? Tkachuk hits a guy from behind after the puck is gone, an opponent takes exception and hits him and they wrestle?
Even the elbow was more of a forearm and incidental contact as he was just going after Tkachuk. Was responding to the tweet that suggested a suspension.
Compher has actually been very good for Detroit thus far, but he’s probably going to die defending three forwards at once playing with Kane and DeBrincat.
because all the talk on 32 thoughts over the past few days is that Kane wanted term. I was surprised he took a 1 year deal.
After an internal investigation, the Chicago Blackhawks have determined that Corey Perry has engaged in conduct that is unacceptable, and in violation of both the terms of his Standard Player's Contract and the Blackhawks' internal policies intended to promote professional and safe work environments. As such, Corey Perry has been placed on unconditional waivers. In the event Mr. Perry clears waivers, we intend to terminate his contract effective immediately. Media at 4pm CT
I figured it was BS, but haven’t been able to follow close enough to notice it was officially debunked
Whatever it was, it had to be pretty bad to straight up have his contract terminated after a pretty good start to the year.
I hate that it spread. Like it's obviously funny if it's true but having a contract terminated for a violation of standards means it's clearly a serious situation and the Hawks are the last team on earth who should be having memes about secretive bad things
yea, this is going to be something pretty serious. wouldn't be surprised if it was some sort of sexual harrassment against a staffer/trainer/etc.
yeah I'm with everyone else, it can't be gambling or it's a league issue. Can't be drugs/alcohol because they'd just send him to rehab. Can't be consensual sexual conduct because that wouldn't violate the contact
I know he's an asshole but it's kind of strange all of sudden Perry would do something so horrible to get him kicked off the team immediately at 38 years old when nothing like that had previously come up. unless it had been happening and teams just made it go away.
That would be my first guess, particularly because of how quickly this played out. Scratched, told to stay away, contract terminated, all within a week. This was clearly something the Blackhawks wanted absolutely no part of fucking around with and another scandal in the same vein as the Beach one would be radioactive for them right now.
this sounds eerily like Junior Seau. Those last few years he was literally begging Belicheck for a contract so he didn't have to face his CTE demons.
