yea respect the work he does, but Dom is another hockey analytic guy who seems like they'd be zero fun to hang out with.
Tulsky just pushed back his media session by 2 hours, so something is still happening. Or nothing. Who knows!
Curious what San Jose is doing. They bought out Vlasic but they’re still super far away from the cap floor and free agency is basically over.
Carolina has a pretty incredible track record for defensemen with a couple question marks under RBA/Tulsky. That seems like a lot but they must be really confident.
It is, but his $7.5 barely gets us over the cap floor, with on paper we’ve got no spots to fill. It’s a silly position to be in.
Rangers did ok in the deal too. Morrow is an O first D with good size and skating. Most assumed he’d take a starting spot this coming year.
All in all, each of the moves made by NYR make sense today in a vacuum. When you judge them in terms of the big picture vision and direction of the organization, it’s pretty obvious the operation is rudderless. And they’re also going to stink for at least a couple years, especially considering the rumors of next years big free agents all resigning with their current teams.
Win/win. Blues take on more risk but get the player with more upside. Mailloux skates, shoots and is gritty at 6’4 210, but his defence and decision making is dog shit. He’s not soft like most offensive D. Bolduc should be a 20-30 goal scorer, and has proven to be valuable in the league, though, something Mailloux might never do. If Mailloux never makes it to the league, Habs make out like bandit. If Mailloux hits though, he’s a big, fast RHD with the potential to score 15 goals/50+ points a season.
He’s a 3C that’s good defensively and can fill in on the top 6 on a crappy team (expect 30-ish points). Effort up until last year was pretty bad though. Not a particilarly gritty/high effort kind of player. I was hoping Montreal would re-sign around 2.5M.
Don’t think he’s coming to Tampa based off Briesbois sounding like he was done adding a little bit ago. It would’ve been hard to make it work obviously, but worth the team exploring it at least.
