https://www.nhl.com/news/los-angeles-kings-off-to-best-start-in-team-history/c-292073336 His words may have sounded defiant, but the mood in the Kings dressing room has been distinctly lighter than in years past. Doughty is smiling, laughing and having fun again. After the Kings missed the playoffs for the second time in three seasons, it triggered an organizational change. Rob Blake was named general manager on April 11, one day after Dean Lombardi and coach Darryl Sutter were fired, and John Stevens was promoted to replace Sutter on April 23. Doughty said he understands why people may have dismissed the Kings, who won the Stanley Cup in 2012 and 2014. "A lot of it had to do with why we weren't very good last year. … And we finally made that coaching change. Now everyone … the life in the room is just up there. "It's so much fun. Coming to the rink every single morning, we're excited to get there. "Whereas, maybe in the past few years, it was almost like, '…. do I have to go the rink again?' You know what I mean? When you're not having fun playing hockey, you're not going to play well. Especially myself.” Just think, you guys had this insight long before anyone else.
Didn't see it posted but JT Brown tweeted this a couple days ago. He's no longer going to raise his fist next time he plays(no clue when that will be since the team's lineup right now is playing well) but he's planning to do a lot in the community.
Holtby's reaction was similar to how a guy looks when Federer hits a tweener past them for a winner. Equal parts disbelief and respect, and also a little pissed off.
He’s been a lot better than I thought. We play 1 defender and 4 forwards on the PP and he is now on the second unit (Hedman only D on the first). A few mistakes here and there but no way he goes back down at this point.
He is very good, he was always a top prospect so no surprise. But it still sucks as a mtl fan, tb made a good deal. Mtl too but the teams are very different
He's gained more confidence each night. I really like what Cooper's doing with the 11/7 lineup right now. The minutes are being spread around for the D not named Hedman and Stralman so it helps bring Sergachev along until he's ready to start increasing his minutes. Also having Johnson and Killorn as the extra forwards is a good idea to get extra shifts out of Stamkos, Kucherov, Point, etc and have it be with two guys that can provide offense. In the past the extra forwards were two grinders that didn't bring any offense so that extra shift for skilled players was kind of wasted. Obviously very encouraged with the start so far, they don't look like they're taking the first half off this year.
This is the photo they chose for Mittelstadt's wiki page https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Casey_Mittelstadt
Yep, can’t really bitch about the trade but tb could spare drouin. Mtl has a lot of issues, they needed sergachev but also drouin.
Enjoyed the game in Vegas last night, crowd was really into it. STL was the better team but Vegas just found a way to win. Not sure how the injury to Subban was but didn’t look good
This sounds terrible. Hope he's ok https://www.nhl.com/ducks/news/patrick-eaves-medical-update/c-292205960
