always forget how bad the bruins arena music is; such a downgrade from the habs who are one of the best.
Sanderson's a very good replacement, but he doesn't usually play his off side much like McAvoy does, so that potentially hurts.
They said you can't bring in a replacement defenseman until you're down to 5, but then they said Harley was allowed to stay even when Makar was back, so now I don't know the rules.
basically they changed the rules for canada and now had to let team USA bring in Hughes. limiting rosters to 20 skaters was always dumb. Wouldn't be surprised to find out it was a NHLPA request because they didn't want 3 extra players giving up their vacation and not even playing.
What rule did they change? And I don’t think it’s some big dumb snafu to say two extra skaters is fine but three is a bridge too far.
Originally no additions were allowed period. Then they let Canada bring in Harley just in case. And when this is an in-season tournament with teams obviously protective of their players, having extra players was going to be anticipated. I mean USA literally had to play with 11 forwards last night and then was down to 10 after the 1st because Tkachuk was held out. The roster rules were dumb from the start. Should have been 23 skaters and 19 active like in the IIHF so teams had flexibility for players taken out of games for precautionary reasons.
That's literally what it was according to Friedman. Also I'm sure part of that is not wanting fringe players who weren't expected to play having it held against them by their federation for saying "No I don't want to miss my vacation to be an emergency option."
I agree there’s a big difference between two extra skaters and five. I can see why the NHLPA didn’t want that.
amusing how canadian media is freaking out about a better replacement option coming in; whereas americans dgaf how canada went about it after Theodore. Past 48 hours its all been about how they need to add Tom Wilson to fight the Tkachuks, Wilson is a must in Milan lmao. years past the roles would have been reversed
Milan will be international ice size, right? If anything, that’s a major disadvantage to the American style of play and a major reason *not* to bring Tom Wilson types.
yea I dont think they are all thinking things level-headed you can just tell the whole 'wait, the Americans are playing our style...but better thing' is causing them to lose their minds. Which is why today they dont want Quin added after spending last week spinning why Harley should join their team.
I think it’s just some basic reactionary takes that are meant to drive content. Quinn and Harley are following the same protocols. Not allowed to practice or join the team until they are down to 5 D.
i don’t know what media you are following but i have not seen any of this. it was a 2-1 game with a soft goal to give the americans the momentum. If one thing canadian media should talk about how bad we are at developping goalies
I missed this somehow. Holy shit In a lawsuit filed on November 3, 2020, in Pennsylvania, it was alleged that Guerin played a role in covering up an alleged sexual assault on the wife of Wilkes-Barre/Scranton Penguins assistant coach Jarrod Skalde by the team's head coach Clark Donatelli.
