Marner taking Gordon Bombay’s advice on D1 to hit the deck when touched. If the league needs some real embellishment footage after last game they can put this first period on tape. he should’ve kept moving his feet and shot the puck on the break.
Marner is 150 pounds and gets thrown around like a rag doll. Trust me, there’s no embellishment with him. He’s just fucking tiny
Not sure the rule on playing the puck in the crease with a broken stick, but putting your hand over the puck in the crease is definitely a penalty shot.
I don’t think playing the puck with a broken stick is a reviewable thing. It should be obviously but I don’t think it’s happened before a goal/no goal play.
I’d be shocked if it’s anywhere in the rule book about playing with a broken stick to prevent a goal.
Mericans and the lack of knowledge http://rulebook.hockeycanada.ca/english/part-i-technical-rules/section-3/rule-3-2/
it should have been an automatic goal. Just like stopping a puck from getting in with your hand. Both happened here. It should have been a goal Even if the puck did not cross. Like throwing a stick to try to prevent an empty net goal
Panthers seem to be clicking better but I really think we’ll learn Tkachuck wasn’t ready when this is all over
Since we’re on a rules tangent, one penalty they hardly ever call but happens frequently is slew footing. They usually just cowardly call it tripping. Dangerous play and should be called as the rule is written. Rule 52 – Slew-footing 52.1 Slew-footing - Slew-footing is the act of a player using his leg or foot to knock or kick an opponent’s feet from under him, or pushes an opponent’s upper body backward with an arm or elbow, and at the same time with a forward motion of his leg, knocks or kicks the opponent’s feet from under him, causing him to fall violently to the ice. 52.2 Match Penalty - Any player who is guilty of slew-footing shall be assessed a match penalty.
Its impressive the panthers are daring the refs to call penalties on them and the refs are just like, no, it’s fine
