Pssh. They couldn’t get out of the country if the Olympics started tonight. Meanwhile our players have every vaccine presented to them on silver platters.
more than once a season and he thinks he is way better than what he really is. He is good for a dumbass selfish penalty once a week minimum too
He seemed to be finding his game and rounding into a solid depth player the year before he was traded, he just couldn't find a consistent lineup spot here. Glad he's finding some success in Detroit.
Convinced Benning is a Jason Garrett situation where the only reason he’s sticking around is he’s a puppet for the owner’s stupidity
Something I have wondered for a while is why every nhl arena hasn’t installed an overhead camera with a much higher frame rate. Pucks move so fast I don’t see why they shouldn’t do it.
I saw someone on Twitter discussing the 2015 draft, and it sent me down a rabbit hole of reviewing that draft. Is it possible that the Bruins fucked up that draft worse than any team ever? They had three first round picks, all in a row, and this is what happened: Even drafting one of those guys likely extends their window by a few years. Imagine if they took two or even all three? Just insane how bad they botched those picks.
Cherry Hill was his favorite place to live in his career, Flyers need to bring cherryhillnativebobbyryan home
I remember laughing at them in this thread (with many others) at the time. Was just baffling decision making. Someone should look them posts up.
The picks were bad but the blow is softened by knocking 2014 (Pastrnak at 25) and 2016 (McAvoy at 14) out of the park, plus we did snag Carlo in the second round in 15. Obviously the three picks in a row grabs the headlines but there are teams that picked worse in that first round *cough Florida and Zona*
Not that Lawson Crouse wasn't a bad pick, but he has as many games played in the NHL as all three of Boston's picks combined. At least the analytics guys had the foresight to use him to get rid of bolland and pick up some good picks as well. https://www.the-mainboard.com/index.php?threads/nhl-thread-abandon-ship.117743/page-310
Sure but that’s a bit misleading since Debrusk has 50+ more points than him alone. We’ve been patient with Zboril and hopefully he’ll continue to improve. Senyshyn was just an awful pick though. Change him with Barzal or Connor and the other two picks aren’t even really an issue imo.
you can't say other teams did worse when these are two of Boston's 3 picks. well no shit. This is what every team that missed in the top 15 is saying.
this is the real issue with these picks, some teams miss and it was just a tougher call. Like the sabre picking reinhart over draistle. It was a bad pick but so tough to call. Another example is Patrick over pettersson. But everybody thought WTF when boston picked these 3 guys especially over barzal. Two of them were major reaches if i remember correctly.
Disclaimer, he would score 10 out of 10 on my sorry ass. He goes in too fast, sometimes he had a few steps on the guy and still kept skating and make a move that is easy to guess as a nhl goalie. He doesn’t sell his moves very well and he doesn’t change his speed ever. But that shot not going in once and a few other moves almost working but not working is definitely insane. His confidence must be pretty low by now. funny because i thought boston would send him in the shootout yesterday. I was wondering why. I have my answer
Which 5th place team has the best chance to catch fourth place? Montreal-Calgary (3 games in hand) Boston (2) -NYR Nashville -Chicago (1) St. Louis (2) -Arizona
You have Montreal and Calgary in the wrong order. I would choose Chicago but the Rangers do scare me.
Changed it thanks. Calgary plays Montreal another 4 times. They control their own fate. Haven’t seen the other teams scheds. NYR is what I thought.
Montreal has the games in hand though, not Calgary. Which is why I think that division’s top 4 is essentially locked
I don’t think I have a favorable opinion of any league. MLB - The amount of time it takes to hit FA is abhorrent, along with how they delay guys in the minors to make sure they aren’t paid. Rob Manfred doesn’t even like baseball. Failure of the MLB owners and MLBPA to adapt and change. NBA - Making guys be one year removed from HS in order to enter the draft. The tanking that persists and permeates. Failure to create a competitive landscape essentially making the sport seem predetermined. Treating the regular season like it’s worthless. Obviously the officiating. NFL - Just like all other sports, guys should be able to declare after HS. No guaranteed contracts. Pricing out the true fans and playing to the corporations. Creating rules in order to solely benefit the offense. The commissioner being a puppet dictator. NHL - The owners and commissioner being collectively the worst group in professional sports. Killing hockey in the Winter Olympics. Escrow. The salary cap being to low
