Canadian rant, buckle up.... Liam McGuire is a local hockey historian/trivia guy Big Don Cherry, Habs and fighting fan. He wrote a book on the real life player that the character Ogie Oglethorpe from Slapshot is based on and they have been doing the tour to promote it. Hitting every pub, legion and county fair beer tent to shill it. Following on Facebook, and they are doing 2 or 3 events a day for the last couple months. It’s hilarious. Always a pint in hand and some cute bar maid in the other. Meanwhile Goldie stands there looking like my grandfather did once dementia set in. TSN 1200 here has an office at the Sens rink. After the games it’s where we meet up to relax. Molson’s has the pouring rights so they fill the fridge up with pints, and the locker room attendants let us grab the away teams left over pizza when they leave. Washington gets greasy hamburgers and poutine from Harvey’s which is odd. Liam will keep the drinks going as late as he can. One more around and once more again and then we should start thinking about wrapping things up boys is his motto. In the tweet he talks about Rigaud which is a little town right over the border between Ontario and Quebec. Maybe 30 minutes outside of Montreal. The strip club in town was legendary. All students from Montreal that didn’t want people to know they were peelers would work there. Run by the HA it was an anything goes type place. Stunning working staff but has been replaced by a Tim Hortons.
don't know what they plan to use the money for, but eating 2 million in 21-22 and 22-23 to save 6 million in a non-compete year makes little sense.
I find Vancouver fascinating. They cling to their older players like gold even though it is clear that they serve no use to the franchise anymore.
I can see the Sedins and Edler because they'd be one franchise players, franchise points leaders at their positions, and the team has never had that combo before. Also their leadership and helping the young Swedes & other Euros acclimate to North America. That being said I wanted the team to move on and rebuild sooner.
this guy does some of the best hockey analysis I've seen, but his personality seems to be one who tries to put a positive spin on things and it's been sad watching him try to find the silver lining for the moves made in the last week or so.
I would think that almost every team in the league would ship a 3rd liner to roll the dice on Puljujarvi
Hopefully that drives Brandon Sutter's trade value up as his contract doesn't seem bad anymore.. haha
nothing surprising about that at all. It's directly tied to if the Panthers sign Panarin AND Bobrovsky.
Said it a lot of times in here but Gardiner is really good. Leafs fans are just leafs fans. When he got hurt this year every one of their fans said it was going to be addition by subtraction and predictably their defense absolutely went in the tank and they gave up like 4 goals a game. The leafs gave up the fewest goals per minute with him on the ice of any top 4 defenseman for like the last 3 straight years and did so with him carrying Zaitsev, who has been so bad he's asking for a fresh start somewhere else on a 4.5 million dollar AAV.
