Something I’ve never seen before. Puck went right off a ref and into the net so it’s no goal... this is weird.
I just learned you cant score a goal off a ref. Tim Peel got hit in the dick off a dump in and deflected in the net. He was standing in the corner. Unreal.
Unsustainable shooting percentage (28.1%). Only four players last year had greater than 20% that played full seasons and none of those were over 23%. Should level off. Dahlin with 14 in 31 for those who were wondering (and he has an unsustainably low shooting percentage).
Gretzky had a career .601 GPG average to get to his 894 total. Ovechkin is currently at .612 GPG right now. If he were to pass Gretzky at his current pace he would need to play in 428 more games, which would be 5 more seasons after this. He'll obviously drop off in production but he just turned 33 in September. Depends on his drive and his health but he'll obviously still be able to shoot one-timers from the top of the circles on the PP. As to the debate of who is the greater goal scorer between the two I think it's obvious it's Ovechkin given the different eras they played, the early to mid 80s were just a joke when it came to goaltending and defense.
So tough to compare them as goal scorers because Gretzky was a playmaker first. If he looked for the goal first like ovechkin what would that look like? I get why you are trying to make the comparison but I think it’s kind of like comparing a big man and a wing in basketball. Ovechkin has to be compared to true goal scoring wingers. When factoring in eras and sustained success, it’s hard to argue any of the Brett hull/pavel bure types are better. Ovechkin to me is the best at what he does because of how sustained his success has been. If you take out sustainability and just look at dominance, I think you can make arguments for bure or mike bossy. So hard to look at guys from bossy’s era though and project how they would do in a different one.
For sure. Leafs were clearly the better team and the Lightning should've lost that game. It was probably the worst defensive effort of the season. Vasy should've been all 3 stars.
The Rangers have lost 6 games after leading by 2 or more. Now tied 3-3 with the Coyotes after being up 3-0.
Canada has to cut two more forwards before Christmas. Formenton may have a long term injury, so that should be one.
I doubt that To be honest, you could never hang with me. I would probably drive you to the er before I really get going.
Any chance Kaapo Kakko goes 1st OA over Hughes? He has been playing C for his club team TPS Turku this season and producing as well. Finland's NT is fucking loaded.
