That’s cheap. I play sometimes during the summer and it’s like 20$ a game, with one ref. Nobody in the box to keep the score, time, penalties etc. My winter league is a much better deal with 3 refs, one person in the box and a standing on the internet updated weekly.
Im not commenting on the veracity of his claim, but it's not a crazy premise that a guy who has been average/mediocre for his career has a 2 year peak where he played above his norm. It happens a lot in sports.

Pekka rinne has a save percentage of .918 over his 600 + games career in the nhl. Just take the l and move on
Luongo has a .919 in over 1000. Hell dubnyk has a .916 in 500. Rinne has always been on very good to great defensive teams and for years during his prime played behind super defensive minded system
Luongo is laughed at because of his post season lack of success, but he had one of the best career for a goalie. He will end up in the hall of fame.
