PICK A SIDE DAMNIT
For the record I think there's some hyperbole going on with Beto. He's like my fifth choice but I like him and would happily vote for him in a general election. I just think going hard progressive is going to be the best way to beat Trump, primarily because it's the best thing for the country.
I think that's probably the appropriate read on Beto
Beto speaks like Obama, and I like him, but yeah indifferent is the right word. If he gets the nod there will be Beto signs in my yard.
Guys, nobody cares that you’ve thrown $15 to your favorite candidate
number of donations matter this time around so it's cool to see people helping, whoever their favorite is.
I know, but I said she takes it waaaaaay too seriously/paranoid.
Hell yeah I love imperialism.
Dude served in a war he hates... That's a decent quality.
Agree to disagree, nothing against the guy but just my overall dislike with how we view troops and “the war”.
I'm cool with that. I hate that he had to do it, same as you. it's dumb as shit. But in a field of others at least he felt the need to protect others in that stupid ass war.
Beto sucks, kamala is a cop, klobuchar and gillibrand are centrists, Biden is a old republican, Booker is in bed with Big pharm
Pete is pretty dope but not well known, Warren is pretty dope as well
So looks like Bernie is the guy.
See you in Milwaukee!!
Outside of Beto’s personality, there is nothing about him that excites me.
I agree with this sentiment, but how the fuck are you even married to someone in the military?
med school is very very expensive.
My only concern with Beto is he’s going to siphon away from Pete who is by far a better credentialed candidate in my opinion.
Seems like any willing support to our industrial military complex is bad.
i don't disagree. a division of my company (i'm not in it) designs buildings for the military. our CEO showed off one of the new drone pilot buildings in our yearly meeting like it was something to be proud of. it's almost unavoidable these days.
this email from Chase made me chuckle:
As you requested, we are notifying you of any charges over the amount of ($USD) 0.01, as specified in your Alert settings.
A charge of ($USD) 25.00 at ACTBLUE*PETE.BUTT... has been authorized on 03/14/2019 11:08:41 AM EDT.
Would anyone bet the field against Biden/Harris/Sanders?
Trump is president. Credentials don’t mean shit unfortunately. I don’t care who it is as long as they get him out of office. I think Beto can do that
Anything over .01? Does that get annoying? I have $25.
And that's how I'll get notifications when this thread is updated now.
this is a remnant from before i had better budgeting tools. it's also a card I don't use often so i don't mind the email.
Yes. but it would be like $10
seriously what's the appeal with this guy? he says absolutely nothing
When I say credentials, I mean Pete is smarter (see: Harvard, Oxford, Rhodes Scholar) and has both military and executive service. He's better than Beto in almost every way, in my opinion, except he doesn't sound like Obama.
Pretty much impossible to avoid working for a company that doesn't contribute to hellworld
I'm donating to Pete in your honor.
I don’t get why people feel the need to shit on these candidates. It’s not like there are Santorum, Jindal, Fiorina, Carson level candidates entering the race. These are all strong options.
Other than Sanders and Bae Warren, there is little on policy to differentiate any of these folks.
that guy has spent the last 20 tweets crying about Beto's announcement. yikes
Actually, yeah, people do.
I have no idea what Beto said at his rally. I have only watched the CNN clip was posted in this thread. Maybe he’s a vapid shithead. But it seems a little harsh to base a wide ranging rebuke of the man on a 2 minute clip that CNN decided to tweet out.
It’s still early yet. All of these candidates are going to say a lot of stuff both dumb and inspiring over the next few months. We don’t have to pick the nominee this month.
Oh fun we are to the point where the truly enlightened democrats start eating their own.
This is really what I want Beto and people who support him to clarify for me. What is he trying to achieve? What's his main policy? This is not simply a matter of being progressive or not. Klobuchar/Biden etc. are not progressive but I know where they stand on the issues and can make an informed decision on them. With Beto it just seems to be empty platitudes. Even the video that brought him his fame wrt to the national anthem was well spoken and I enjoyed it but it was a whole lot of nice talk with nothing tangible behind it.
Most of the candidates declared have a defined objective that they are trying to achieve outside of "I want to be President." Speaking for myself here but empty platitudes and personality are not going to win me over. I'm open to hearing him out just as I was open to Pete and he shot up my power rankings because of it but you gotta give me something and so far I haven't seen anything but empty talk
He declared like 10 seconds ago.
Oh christ. Can we just skip it this time?
It'd be nice if we could skip past all that, yes.
I'm talking about another one of your tone policing sessions
He’s a game changer if he can deliver Texas.
Put me on ignore and stop crying like a bitch.
I'm sorry for criticizing some know it all podcast host that I guess is apparently one of your close friends.
Not to mention that you're policing what I'm say asking me not to police things. Pretty hypocritical.
He's still had a good 5-6 month in the national political spotlight.
And even if I accept your premise his rollout is I'm running because? ....nothing tangible? That's not a good look imo
Boozing this early?
Sick burn dude.
But he supports the big banks!!!!!!1!1!!1
That $7.50 will be the game changer
The amount isn't the point. But yes the Pete commercial gets tiring
I'm still pretty skeptical about a Democrat winning Texas in 2020. Beto obviously ran close to Cruz but Cruz is also an unlikable dork.
Silly me participating and supporting a candidate I'd like to hear more from in a thread about candidates we'd like to hear more from.
