Excuse me sir, have you heard about our lord and savior pete buttigieg?
Beto advocating for doing away with the border wall between El Paso and Juarez is the first good novel idea I've heard from him
After debate reaction: "Warren seemed very professorial and condescending"
There's not many republican politicians in Texas or the US for that matter that I'd describe as likable.
Maybe Dan Crenshaw.
We're all a bunch of cunts, just in case that is unclear to anybody.
Compared to Cruz, though? Cruz is about the least cool, the least sincere, and the least charismatic politician I can remember ever seeing. Not even getting into his policy positions.
He is the political equivalent of someone who tries to draw charges in a pickup basketball game
TMB is a large, standoffish group of unfriendly men who fear change and sometimes talk sports. Since 2009
Except now some of us want nothing short of drastic change but the rest of it still holds up
Yeah that part's pretty true. They don't come more unlikable than him. Although I think they're are plenty of worse human beings than him in the republican party.
ted cruz is so uncharming and un-human that it makes him charming
"Ha ha yes I am smiling and laughing, that's what people do"
I loved how PISSED Cruz got when Rubio was like "you dont even speak Spanish, bitch!"
I know you’re being sarcastic, but having briefly met him in person he is continually as awkward as he was in that clip where he elbows his wife.
Just doesn’t seem to grasp being a human.
Soup why does your opinion even slightly matter when this is your first time voting (D)? If you couldn’t see through the bullshit then maybe you do need to be dog walked a bit.
Soup you voted for Trump?
It's not my first time voting Democrat.
Not even close. As usual the board makes up a narrative and runs with it.
Maybe you said it was your first dem primary then. Or my memory is bad.
I’ll take a lap
This is what the man said.
Yeah first primary that I'm not republican affiliated.
I voted for Obama.
Yea I'm out
Imagine thinking finding common ground with Republicans on healthcare is a good idea in the year of our lord 2019
It's not politically possible though
"No we can't"
Blasting Beto's band over loudspeakers all along the border would be a lot cheaper than a wall.
Nothing like an inspiring message to turn out the voters there Beto.
Discussing their voting history and policy ideas isn’t shitting on candidates. It’s the primary, now is the time to be choosy and to stand strong for what I want and believe in. Do you want no one here to discuss that information or to not favor one candidate over the other?
That is welcomed and should be, but to act like that's all that happens on this board is pretty naive. Regardless it was brought up today because of that Tweet that was posted.
Yang is super smart and relatable. Would like to hear more ideas on foreign policy among other stuff but his UBI ideas are really well thought out and he does a good job conveying them.
But it’s also turned to that anyone who brings up something that may not be positive about a candidate others who like them whine and say those people are just doing a “purity” test it’s tiresome
I like the guy and would vote for him in a heartbeat, but he is milquetoast Pete.
Just feel like if you took Beto’s shirt off he’d have a wind up key in the middle of his back.
what does that even mean
how did you not understand that statement
explain the implication of it then.
bro not understanding a criticism about someone not coming off as a normal person, huh, weird.
you know what he meant by it bro. you're just being intentionally obtuse because it was something negative about beto
No, I don't. I am asking you to explain it because I don't get the implication.
From the short clip I watched it seems like he's trying to imitate natural passion about something instead of actually having passion or being able to convey it normally. Robotic, basically.
For those saying that about Beto, do you feel that Obama possessed that same quality as well?
Beto has the hyperactive-impulsive ADHD variant mannerisms of Obama.
Pretty lame that he gets Obama comparisons due to mannerisms. I hold Obama in much higher esteem than Beto
I don't think it's unfair to say he talks and has similar mannerisms to Obama. Whether it's genuine is a different issue altogether. I like Beto fine, but he's definitely not the most progressive of the bunch and I just don't think he's a better option than some of the others. I kinda feel like a Beto candidacy would either really excite Democrats, or he will just be chalked up as a phony...and nothing in between.
Either way, Beto is no Obama.
I agree with your first sentence. But he is being compared to Obama directly by progressives and I just find it as a disservice to Obama who I guess is reaching the phase where people get applauded for bashing him (not that he is above critique, just feel like it is going further than that).
I'll vote for the first person who says a big fuck you to iowa
