The way they used him today made it seem like they have already decided to process him after the season.
Moala looked good in mop up duty. Obviously the TD, but he was flying around. Was also impressed with Cross
Moala can play, I love this defense. They make some mistakes but they are aggressive doing them. Can’t be against that philosophy, especially since they create so many turnovers
Bad hair day. Sucks that it happened that night but it would not have made a huge difference, everybody was off that night
It's just weird that all week people talk about the lack of talent, and how they play down to bad teams, but complain when they blow out a weak team. They destroyed a team they were supposed to destroy. The line was a TD.
It’s even more stupid than this, everything that was not clicking clicked today. I am a miserable fuck when this team plays like shit but I am also very willing to give props when they play/coach well. This was a total domination. All facets. I laughed at book and hated his play this season but he was flawless today except for a underthrow to lenzy when he was pressured. I never give a shit if people laugh at this coaching staff or criticize them but I don’t get not being happy with a win like this unless your mind is already made up and you just hate kelly. Even if I would take rhule after this season over kelly I could not be in a let’s try to spoil this solid win tonight because I hate kelly mood. That’s a solid win and it would be for any program in the country
It’s weird because I am not sure what it means and I know you can articulate your ideas better than this
Navy's marquee win is Tulane. Let's relax. Pardon me for not knocking a few back in Lord Kelly's honor.
It’s all fine, just no need to try to piss on any positive thought that was posted tonight. It was not a marquee win but a very good win, but not only that. The team actually improved in a few areas that we all wanted them to improve in. Not saying kelly should get a ten years deal but I am glad book had a good game. Also happy that the oline played well with a few starters out. I absolutely love this defense.
Playing marginal teams tends to help a team show improvement. These games don't matter. If you want to get some trumped up value out of it then by all means, but I reserve the right to rain on it if it's posted in here.
I mean I get it’s year 10 and everything but my entire life outside of one or two seasons (2005/2018) this game and the duke game are hard fought close wins or losses. Fucking up mediocre teams feels kinda good.
Undoubtedly. I guess my point is that after we've gotten blown out by Michigan beating up on middling teams loses its luster. Particularly when our head coach and the local media act like we just beat down the Patriots. It's pathetic. Papering over the holes in this program is something I can't abide. Also, this place turns into Domer Domain at times in it's sunshine pumping. I like to provide a counterbalance.
Everyone agrees that this program isn’t where it needs to be and that Kelly likely isn’t the guy to get it there. Hence, why our expectations are so incredibly low going into these types of games. So when this team randomly gets their heads out of their asses and blows someone’s doors off, it’s a pleasant surprise.
Troy pride running down perry was a solid play. Pride is so fast, he could take more risk in coverage since he can make up for it
Our offense eating shit makes the defense look much worse. If we had put up 30, like we should, they have a game. We don't give up 45 if the O isn't inept and holds their own.
If PJ Fleck lost ND a chance at the playoffs by running on the field 35 yards into the refs face what would our reaction be? Holy fuck was that bad by him
They just did a little special on claypool up here on sportcenter, they never talk about college football until the playoffs
This Claypool kid, eh. Hes excellent in the forecheck for Notra Dame eh. That Brian Kelly doesn't use him enough. What a hoser, eh!
Hamilton will be the best player on this team starting next year, can’t believe how he ran down perry with ease on that 4th down but the most impressive play was absolutely blanketing that slot receiver down field and almost getting the int. He is 6’4 and keeping up easily with fast twitch athletes in space as a freshman. He had zero help and completely erased that dude in coverage. Recruiting is kind of important, I hope tyree is as good. Would be nice to have a star at rb
I was saying yesterday that you would think Tyree hits that corner quicker than any of the guys in the roster right now. There is space out there but Jones and Armstrong are both too slow to get there. My biggest question though is that Kelly keeps saying Book got over his mental hurdle. Why did it take 9 games to figure this out?
It’s mind boggling, he was playing scared. it seems like now that the season is kind of a waste he is more relaxed.
True but he was different especially yesterday, he also played vt’s defense and they suck and he sucked. Doesn’t mean he has arrived but the progression is clear
