the 2018 and 2019 recruiting classes really sucked in retrospect- when you look at those lists its actually amazing that ND won as many games as it did the last two years I'd argue ND outplayed its talent in both seasons and that's probably why Marshall and Stanford happened
No. It's not. He explicitly said he's not playing another year of CFB. There was one sure fire QB transfer last year. He beat our ass last night. Everybody else left because they'd been Wally Pipped or flat out beaten out. All of those landed in their new spots with question marks. A few panned out. A few were as bad in their new spots as their old. About 80% were probably an upgrade over Pyne, though. "True guaranteed star" isn't a realistic expectation for any of us to hold. But that should stop them from bringing in a talent upgrade to compete with Buchner. (Whose arm is an upgrade over Pyne, btw.)
This is where ND fans now go for moral victories and off season natty’s. ND lost those pathetic games to Marshall and Stanford because of coaching. ND had more talent at every position , plus their back ups than Marshall and Stanford
We don’t know what we are because we’ve never developed a QB well enough to get to the offense Tommy Rees apparently wants to run. Our identity is literally “well our QB room is a mess, so I guess we’re supposed to be a power run team…?”
Michael Penix is injury prone Bo Nix stinks Hendon Hooker is too inaccurate We can talk our way out of every QB. But they’re all better than what we have.
So was Coan and he was cooking when he got healthy and the OL came together. I prefer a mobile guy but we can work with a traditional qb.
I suspect they will instead find someone who finds winning at Stanford is incredibly difficult and thankless if you play by the rules (cough cough PEDs under Shaw were the only reason they were any good).
Shaw was 6-5 vs ND so he did his share of winning vs ND despite being at Stanford , where they truly take academics serious and don’t pretend like other schools.
Yeah we watched a Christmas movie last night and it was a great decision, even if the movie itself wasn’t my favorite.
I think Stanford is closer to folding the program than competing like they used to. I don’t see Stanford doing what it takes to compete in college football with exorbitant coaching contracts and NIL money
I feel like we should take up a collection to get AATC a sub the IB so his trolls will work somewhere.
Frankly, I don’t think anyone gives a shit what Stanford does. Hire a decent coach, fine. Hire a shitty coach, fine. They are a team we should beat every year moving forward regardless.
They are in a tough spot. Going to have to hire a retread at the end of his career or a major reach on a young guy
More than any other school, including ND, Stanford needs to decide what they want their football program to be in the Transfer Portal/NIL era. And unlike ND who can wait out conference realignment, Stanford is getting their hand forced quickly as the Pac 12 falls apart.
definitely, I was just pointing out how bad cash got at trolling. That was such a bad effort by him. I think he is finally getting worn out
Oh wow sounds like shaw gave Stanford an ultimatum on the transfer portal usage and they called his bluff so he quit. Stanford to the Ivy League if they will have them
If this is the way they want to go, Their only chance of survival is hoping they can ride their geography and academics into being a throw-in on the next round of Big 10 expansion. They are an overwhelming favorite to be the first “major” program that drops football.
The actual content of the article was basically “there’s no chance Caleb goes to ND so it would just be a waste of time”, but woof at the headline.
