Not related but we talked In here about the de who might de commit from Oklahoma giving an interview to an irish site being a good sign.

i listened to the interview and one minute in I was 70 percent sure he was not Irish, halfway I was 90 percent sure he was not Irish and I stopped listening

He basically said, how I can strive in the defense, how I can better my opportunity. How I can feel the love. And what can nd do for me

go play at Oklahoma kid. You will feel the love

He’s a great story and seems to be a great kid. But he was hardly able to walk not very long ago. And for someone who made a lot of plays with his legs, he seems extremely limited now.

yeah but he was really good before his injury and the new guy came in and was too good to bench. Plus he had a long rehab. He might be done but it doesn't seem like the coaches are brimming with confidence in Clark or Pyne and I don't think scholarship numbers matter next year anyways

true. but you would think a QB who basically lost his entire career to a devastating leg injury would jump at the chance to play behind an offensive line with 4 new starters.

I don't think Milton is the answer, I do think we will take a transfer QB. We just don't know who he is yet, and probably won't know it until Feb

Milton is exactly the type of kid you bring in. Someone to push the younger guys and has been is college almost as long as Book, so it'll be good to have another 30 year old QB in the room.

I said take a look a month ago.

PFF's #1 rated Oline this year - ND of course:

    1. NOTRE DAME
Not only does Notre Dame have the best offensive line of the 2020 college football season, but it also has one of the best offensive lines we have seen in the PFF College era.

Left tackle Liam Eichenberg, left guard Aaron Banks, right guard Tommy Kraemer and right tackle Robert Hainsey all rank eighth or higher in the FBS in PFF grade at their respective positions. And center Jarrett Patterson was right up there at No. 9 before he went down with a season-ending injury after Week 11. Against North Carolina in Week 13, the Irish missed Patterson’s presence as well as that of Kraemer, who was out due to an appendectomy. Zeke Correll recorded a 41.9 PFF grade in his first game in Patterson’s spot, and Josh Lugg posted a 63.8 mark while filling in for Kraemer.

Center is an area to keep an eye on for Notre Dame the remainder of the season, but don’t worry too much about right guard, as the Irish should be getting Kraemer back in a few weeks.

Would be nice if we could trust in the trajectory of the program and know that there will be ample opportunity to get him snaps in garbage time like other elite programs. But we are tortured souls and wont believe we are better than 9-3 every year until we see it.

not me, I always like to think the best of each decision BK's made (he's obviously not perfect) because he's done a pretty amazing job since 2017

Even the Rees hire which so many people criticized, I could see what BK was doing there and he was the right guy over Moorhead

Everyone hand wringing over 3 star commits doesn't see the complete picture. Coaches have access to tons more film than what is shown on Hudl

I wish there were some changes BK would make, but by and large, these last 4 years of ND football have been amazing

still hope they can convince Banks to play LT, Patterson to play RT and we go into the season with an OL of Banks-Lugg-Correll-Gibbons-Patterson. WOuld be a very solid line

and FTR, I wish he had let go of Chip Long one season earlier but it would have been so hard to justify considering the success ND was having but Chip really screwed up the chemistry of the team last year

Had we fired chip the year before (more likely would have “encouraged him” to take a job elsewhere), it’s super interesting to think about who we would have tapped for OC. It wouldn’t have been Rees for sure. As much as the Michigan game sucked (apparently, I still haven’t watched it), and as much as I was not totally thrilled with the Rees promotion initially, it’s obviously worked out really well.

the last 4 years easily have been the best window of ND football since i started following ND. I love not being worried about crap teams. The roster is about as balanced as they come. I was listening to the Cover 2 podcast and 1 thing they cited was that they would take every bama position group over their ND counterpart. Whilst i think its wrong as I think the ND OL is slightly better and if you make TE a seperate position group its easily ND to me the bigger realisation for me was that outside of WR i dont see a big gap anywhere. In 2012 the hope was that the ND DL was so awesome that it could make bama 1 dimensional but the DBs were never expected to measure up. The OL was never expected to fight past a draw at best and really only Eifert on the skill positions would make bamas team then

that's a good point about who would be OC in 2019 if Chip had been let go and i honestly have no clue
