ND's Dline is going to be truly elite in a couple of years...if they land 1 or 2 more of Teva, Moss, or Wesolak, they are going to be scary good Gobaira and Tyson Ford have a chance to be true gamewreckers with their size and quickness and the interior with Rylie Mills, AK, and Rubio are all difference makers
I think they have enough at WR right now to make any QB look good in but of course adding more top WRs is critical in this era of college football To me, the key for ND for the next 3 years is Buchner. I'm not sure we've seen a recruit with more pressure on him than Tyler in the last decade. They chose him over the local kid (JJ McCarthy) who was a better recruiter, local from Chicago, ended up rated higher (not that it matters but just interesting). Buchner also had an injury history (lost a whole season), tampered with his mechanics in the offseason (with poor results at the Elite 11), played the worse competition in CA, and lost his senior season to Covid. That is A LOT of red flags, yet his film is ridiculous, the coaches chose him over McCarthy watching them throw next to each other, and the coaches and everyone who's spoken to him or anyone around him absolutely gushes about him. I feel like this is going to end with him winning the heisman or being a total bust, I just don't see much in between. if he is the former and a heisman finalist, i think ND will be able to truly compete with Bama with the way the rest of the team is now built. We have top level talent (top 100 is how i define that) at all offensive positions now with legit depth everywhere and i think this will end up being ND's best defensive class in the last 20 years with Freeman leading defensive recruiting
I knew exactly what he was trying to say but I still see '31 and '32 and think why the hell is Pete talking about games from the Knute Rockne era.
sounds like ND is working hard to flip Kaden Saunders from PSU according to Loy...he's a top 100 level WR that i think ND will eventually land
Makes you wonder if Franklin runs a pressure campaign that eventually blows up with some kids. Or they discover the kid diddling stuff....
ND just offered Addison Copeland (WR commit for Rutgers from NY)...dude looks amazing. One of the ND posters on II is his teacher and says he's a legit 6'2/6'3 would love to have this kid
This kid is blowing up: Texas A&M, Washington, Penn State, and Michigan offers in the last week. Wonder how much longer ND slow plays him
so im seeing a ton of CBs for Addison Copeland. He however doesnt have a single offer of a real team with BYU and Indiana prolly the biggest teams besides ND. why is ND shooting this low?
Sounds like he is under-recruited being in NY. Plus, IU had at least 3 guys who would be ND's #1 receiver last year. They recruit that position well.
No Jr film yet as they haven't played yet in NY. Maybe he would have blown up. At this point I feel like there is some real risks with kids who haven't played their JR year
well thats a lot more satisfying. Just dont want to take "why take em" guys this early on, certainly not on such a position of need
Buchner better work out because Michigan getting the 5* qb from there is probably the difference in their recruitment
It could be a weird program altering recruitment for both Michigan and ND, will be fascinating to see who got this one right in 5 years. I guess if ND got it right since they passed on the Michigan QB
Copeland from August, the way he moves i don't see anyone on the current team that moves that way. It's clear these kids are sending coaches film/videos that no one else is seeing
i guess they're going with the strategy of -- better to have 3 stars that overperform than 4 stars that disappoint. worked with Ian Book and Rees!
Was it well documented that McCarthy would have gone to ND had we offered? I didn't follow that very closely.
uh yes, there was no doubt he was coming to ND if ND offered. ND passed and OSU passed as well so he ended up at Mich
Michigan had a 5 star qb fall into their lap during peak Harbaugh shitstorm. Unreal their luck with that
