Good read, free
Ah spring season sports getting going. lax *finally* announced their schedule last night and now some baseball. spring is coming (never mind the fact that it's going to be -5 this weekend)
Last in the Atlantic? The OFD dudes just said they were a sleeper for the tourney. Who to believe?
not just last, but last by a good bit
yeah i was surprised as well. thought we had a good thing going last year that was supposed to continue
Had to put the dog, Rockne, down today. He was 15.5 so he ran through Weis into Kelly. Let's hope the puppy to come (Gipper) has a similar run.
So sorry to hear that man. Sounds like Rockne loved a great life!!
ND recruiting this guy? He just decommitted from Michigan. He seems small for Elston standards
Loy said no, they have other guys higher up their board
umm...this would be nuts
Notre Dame is off to a great start with the class of 2022. The Fighting Irish have already secured six commits this cycle and have the No. 6 overall class according to the 247Sports Composite Team Recruiting Rankings.
So, who else could join the class? I’m getting close to picking Notre Dame on the 247Sports Crystal Ball for a big-time talent.
In talking with multiple sources, Notre Dame is trending very well with Scottsdale (Ariz.) Chaparral four-star defensive tackle Anthony Lucas. The 6-5, 279-pounder, who is versatile enough to play along the interior or on the edge of the defensive line, has been a major priority for the Fighting Irish for a long time. However, the staff, led by defensive coordinator Marcus Freeman and defensive line coach Mike Elston, have taken things up a notch over the past few months. From what we’ve gathered, Lucas is saying all of the right things. One well-respected, connected source believes Notre Dame is sitting alone at the top right now despite him not yet making it to campus to check out South Bend. That could be the difference-maker if and when that trip does occur. From what we're told, a trip to campus is currently being discussed behind closed doors and everyone is trying to lock that in for the moment the dead period ends.
As a junior, Lucas racked up 46 total tackles, 15.5 tackles for loss and seven sacks. In addition, he found the end zone on offense, once through the air and another score on the ground.
247Sports Evaluation via Blair Angulo: All the attention is warranted. Lucas is a big-bodied lineman with supreme athleticism and quick-twitch movements. He does tremendously well at the point of attack, showing nimble feet and fast hands to shed blocks. His size allows him to dominate at the line of scrimmage but he doesn’t just get by with his frame — Lucas displays great bend and wiggle to beat opponents in pass-rush situations. In run support, he shows patience to hold his ground and remains gap conscious to maintain leverage. Lucas has major physical upside and projectable length, and given his mobility and flexibility, should be regarded as one of the best interior defensive line prospects in the nation.
“He’s a very bright young athlete and on the field, he reminded me of Sheldon Day with more height and overall size,” wrote Irish Illustrated’s Kevin Sinclair of Lucas. “Lucas is a prime disrupter who can compete well from five-technique to one-technique. I see a bright future for this 6-foot-4 ½, 280-pounder.”
Per 247Sports, Lucas is the No. 94 overall player in America, No. 6 defensive tackle nationally and No. 1 prospect in Arizona from the class of 2022. The 247Sports Composite Rankings have him a little lower as the No. 164 overall talent this cycle.
Lucas is expected to end his high school career in San Antonio at the 2022 All-American Bowl. He was invited to the prestigious game back in January.
to add on to this, there is a guy who has west coast ties and is very into recruiting who's been saying for weeks that if Freeman/Elston turned up the heat for Lucas, ND would have a very legit shot
one other note on recruiting, it's clear that Lea had mentally checked out of recruiting last year since he knew he was leaving. We see this happen all the time when coaches have one foot out of the door (Hiestand and Lyght being very clear examples) but it's refreshing to see new blood on the coaching staff going all in on recruiting like Freeman has
Good. Now turn up the fucking pressure on Curry you fucking dolts
pretty sure that ship has sailed - that kid is all OSU from what i understand and if it's not OSU, it sounds like he wants to go to a football factory
yea I’ve seen OSU boards list him #1 on their must gets for 2022, I’m guessing ND should put their resources elsewhere
Lol nbc sports ran an article about the commitment of that kid from Hawaii and then pulled it. So may be breaking today.
Random thought. Can you imagine being a 17 year old recruit and reading message boards of grown men talking about you.
The old USC kid?
I think it's ...
wow, this is getting absurd, must ALMOST be what Bama fans feel like everyday
Just a note Sinclair posted on Niuafe the other day - he's changing his jersey number in HS from 44 to 5 in honor of Manti
Blank date makes me think it’s a form article that a kid forgot to save to drafts. Be nice if it was written for good reason though.
It's dated Feb 12 on the byline and mentions "2nd top 100 recruit in two weeks" so is dated
I see that but the blank date in the body makes me wonder.
Be nice to get the Polly lb from Cali and that hybrid kid from Hawaii
those dudes are scheme wreckers
Are we 100% done with grad transfers at QB or would have any interest? Top 150 guy in high school
He is awful
I’ve never seen a team as highly ranked as Oregon was be so non-confident in their QBs ability to throw the football. It was shocking how often they took the ball out of his hands in the second half of games.
In short, pass.
theregionsitter drop the bag
So, when does the offense recruiting starts?
he might end up #1 recruit in the Midwest
He’s a future #Ohio State Buckeyes most likely.
Fong and Loy w ND CB's
General student body is back
The offense has signed 4 top 100 guys the last two years. I think they get the benefit of a little patience (at least through mid June) before we start to panic.
Don’t you ever tell me when to panic you asshole, I will panic when I want to panic.
*maybe I panicked a little too soon
Recruiting seems fun right now.
Is nd back to being a basketball school?
No. Women’s lax
Well, it’s better than a swift kick in the ass
Any cruiting updates?
Super slow after an onslaught of news early last week
But really, no.
Has to be pay structure stuff.
