Damnit. I loved that kid. He's one of my favorites because he had that personality and spirit aside from football. I feel terrible for his mother.
Absolutely loved watching the way he genuinely seemed to have fun playing the game. Seeing his giant ass wear #1 always made me smile too. Didn’t he have a bunch of younger sibling too? Just awful all the way around.
liking nix more than manti is totally fair. Honestly Kap was my fav from that squad but Nix was the most fun player. Still think back every once in a while at nix clapping whenbamas center and qb were getting mad at eachother
In my top 5 favorite players at ND. This is terrible news. Completely heartbreaking. Praying for his mom and family
The transition out of football after it being your entire life has to be so hard. Hopefully BK and the program really take a look and figure out how they can better support guys after their playing career is done, especially guys that don't make the NFL
Yeah, Nd lost a few in the recent years. Not a good trend. I am not saying nd is to blame but it can probably do better. These guys give so much.
On a totally irrelevant note, Wiltfong and Loy with CB for Josh Burnham to ND and he's apparently deciding in the next few weeks Spoiler Last week, Irish Illustrated reported that Notre Dame was making a move with a big-time prospect on the board. On Monday, a new 247Sports Crystal Ball prediction was tossed in for the Fighting Irish. That pick has Traverse City (Mich.) Central high school four-star linebacker Joshua Burnham landing with the Fighting Irish. The reason is simple — defensive coordinator Marcus Freeman. I’m told Freeman and the 6-4, 215-pounder have hit it off extremely well and the Michigan native sees an extremely bright future under Freeman at Notre Dame. The Fighting Irish may have offered back in June 2020, but I don’t think Notre Dame truly had a shot until Freeman arrived and turned up the heat. Not to be outdone is head football coach Brian Kelly. As I reported last week, I’m told his call with Burnham on Thursday had a big impact. The two had a great, in-depth talk about life after football, what Notre Dame can do for him now and in the future, and the call was “eye-opening” according to a source. 71COMMENTS Michigan and Wisconsin are serious threats here and will make it tough down the stretch, but I like Notre Dame as it stands today. 247Sports ranks Burnham as the No. 85 overall player in America, No. 6 outside linebacker in the country and No. 2 prospect in Michigan. The 247Sports Composite Rankings have him set as the No. 115 overall talent this cycle. Just an FYI, Jamie at ISD has him ranked as the 29th overall player in the class and i believe he's a top 100 player on all sites
The LB class could be absolutely insane by ND standards. If they end up with tuihamakalele (or whatever his name is), this guy and cheeks thats a ton of talent with tafiti and devon jackson also in play. Wonder how many of them they would take
Loy is saying it will be a 4 man LB class but I think they should take 5 with all of the talent they are in on. Tafiti is a Vyper prospect so he shouldn’t effect LB numbers
I’m starting to see some of the 3* guys CBd early by Loy and Wiltfong moved to other schools and replaced by some higher end guys. This is the opposite of what we are used to seeing and it’s kinda fun.
there's been some chatter that Nickel might get pushed out as well based on the way they are recruiting both Raridon and Staes at TE. I guess we'll have to see how this works out for Nickel but I'd feel kinda bad about that plus they'd be doing it to a Georgia kid.
pretty sure ND leads for both Raridon is a ND legacy Staes has CBs to ND for him and most everyone thinks ND leads
