on a happier note, baseball won yet another weekend series. what a season they're having right now. the (traditional*) spring sports season has been really good *i don't know how mens and women's soccer faired this year
Showing a 7 yard out route means all the qb development and skill player recruiting issues are of no concern anymore
Sampson could post a video of Buchner making that play the Villanova QB did last weekend and we'd complain about his lack of coordination and pressure from the right side of the line
I think it only fair that we thread ban any posters with questionable loyalties until they declare themselves publicly or until after the games have taken place.
You go away for eight months and this is what brings you back? I’ll probably be dead by then sir. Thanks for reminding me of my mortality.
Not sure if this would be an incredible job or incredibly stressful, I don’t think you’re allowed to tell “run the fucking ball Kelly” on the PA.
Spoiler The 247Sports Crystal Ball is a tool recruiting analysts use to show exactly where a recruit might end up. We typically look at it in one of two ways and it's either a projection of how things could play out or it's used as the pulse of where things currently stand. Let's take a look at how confident I am — Like It, Love It, Leave It — regarding some predictions I've made over the last year when it comes to some top targets for Notre Dame from the class of 2022. SLIDE 1 of 14 Four-star WR Tyler Morris Pick: Michigan Current Confidence: 1 Date: 5/19/20 Thoughts: This is a really tough one to read. If you talk to people connected to the Notre Dame football program, confidence is high that the Fighting Irish have a slight edge. If you talk to those connected to Michigan, there is a belief that the Wolverines are in better shape. I’m going to give the slightest of edge to Michigan right now, but I don’t feel great about it one way or another. I think official visits to both schools, as well as one to Florida, will likely play the biggest factor. I believe Morris will spend a day or two on each campus, get around the players and coaches, and then know exactly where he’ll commit. In fully transparency, I have a feeling I might eventually be flipping this to Notre Dame before all is said and done. As of Today: Leave It SLIDE 2 of 14 Four-star OL Billy Schrauth Pick: Notre Dame Current Confidence: 9 Date: July 29, 2020 Thoughts: I absolutely love where Notre Dame is at with the talented offensive lineman. Schrauth has been a longtime top target for the Fighting Irish and staff has been putting the full court press on since day one. Wisconsin continues to plug away, as do a few others, but I just can’t see him picking a school other than Notre Dame at this point. As of Today: Love It SLIDE 3 of 14 Four-star LB Sebastian Cheeks Pick: Notre Dame Current Confidence: 7 Date: Nov. 8, 2020 Thoughts: I firmly believe Notre Dame is the team to beat right now for the talented defensive prospect. Cheeks has been high on Notre Dame for a very long time. His initial relationship was with Clark Lea, but nothing has really changed regarding his interest in the Fighting Irish since Lea left to become the head coach at Vanderbilt. Cheeks has become very close with defensive coordinator Marcus Freeman and remains extremely tight with senior analyst Nick Lezynski. As long as there is room for him, I expect Notre Dame to be his landing spot. As of Today: Like It SLIDE 4 of 14 Three-star DT Donovan Hinish Pick: Notre Dame Current Confidence: 9 Date: Nov. 19, 2020 Thoughts: I love Notre Dame’s position at this point with one of the most talented players in Pennsylvania. Fighting Irish defensive line coach Mike Elston made it a point to target Hinish early, especially after seeing how well big brother Kurt Hinish has done during his time in South Bend. Everyone at Notre Dame seems to believe the younger Hinish has even more potential at the next level. As long as everything plays out as expected, look for him to eventually join the Notre Dame commit list. As of Today: Love It SLIDE 5 of 14 Four-star LB/DE Tevarua Tafiti Pick: Notre Dame Current Confidence: 1 Date: Dec. 1, 2020 Thoughts: Notre Dame was the favorite to land the top talent from the state of Hawaii for a very long time. Coaching turnover seemed to change where he stood on the Fighting Irish recruiting board, so it looks like he’ll head somewhere other than South Bend for school. At this point, I’m just unsure what school to pick at this time. It could be Cal, Stanford, Utah or maybe even Virginia. Regardless, as it stands now, it won’t be Notre Dame. As of Today: Leave It SLIDE 6 of 14 Three-star WR Addison Copeland Pick: Notre Dame Current Confidence: 1 Date: Feb. 9, 2021 Thoughts: Notre Dame, Rutgers and South Carolina are his top three schools as of today. The Fighting Irish are being patient with him at this time, so it makes sense to like one of the others much more. I’m tempted to put my prediction back on Rutgers, but the Gamecocks are absolutely a threat as well. A dark horse is Pittsburgh if the Panthers can get him on campus for an official visit. I just don’t see Notre Dame green-lighting this one, but we’ll see how things shake out over time. As of Today: Leave It SLIDE 7 of 14 Four-star DE DJ Wesolak Pick: Notre Dame Current Confidence: 1 Date: Feb. 17, 2021 Thoughts: Notre Dame made his Top 15, but as we’ve reported, there just isn’t a spot in the class as of today. We’ll see if that changes, but right now, look for the four-star edge-rusher to head elsewhere for school. If I were to guess where he could eventually land, I’m watching Arizona State, Clemson, Texas A&M and a few others. If Notre Dame eventually makes it clear that he has a spot in the class, I could see the Irish quickly gaining momentum here. However, with numbers looking as they are, I’m not confident that happens. As of Today: Leave It SLIDE 8 of 14 Three-star RB Zach Evans Pick: Notre Dame Current Confidence: 1 Date: Feb. 17, 2021 Thoughts: Notre Dame was the team to beat at one point. However, they weren’t ready to push for his commitment, his visit to South Bend never came to fruition, and the staff ended up taking four-star running back Jadarian Price. That seemed to end things between both parties. I don’t expect things to change in the future. As of today, I’m just not sure where he’ll land, which is why my pick is still on Notre Dame with such a low confidence. As of Today: Leave It SLIDE 9 of 14 Three-star TE Eli Raridon Pick: Notre Dame Current Confidence: 6 Date: Feb. 17, 2021 Thoughts: I’ve felt this was a Notre Dame-Iowa battle for a while and still believe that is the case as of today. Raridon will take multiple visits to each school, both unofficial and official, and only make a decision when he’s comfortable with it. I do believe the Fighting Irish have the edge at this point, but it’s far from a done deal. The depth chart favors Iowa right now and he’ll likely play earlier with the Hawkeyes, but if the Irish coaches can overcome that, I could definitely see him picking Notre Dame due to the history of stellar play at the position and how they plan to use him. As of Today: Like It SLIDE 10 of 14 Four-star LB Niuafe Tuihalamaka Pick: Notre Dame Current Confidence: 7 Date: Feb. 17, 2021 Thoughts: The former USC commit is likely two months from making his second and final decision. Tuihalamaka is considering Notre Dame, Stanford, Texas, Michigan, Oregon and a couple of others. I believe he’ll take a couple of trips, then head to Notre Dame over the weekend of June 11-13, and potentially commit shortly after that on June 18. We’ll see how things play out, but I really like where Notre Dame sits at this point in his process. As of Today: Like It SLIDE 11 of 14 Four-star TE Holden Staes Pick: Notre Dame Current Confidence: 9 Date: Feb. 25, 2021 Thoughts: We’ve talked about Staes so much since he de-committed from Penn State, and landed an offer from Notre Dame shortly after. We’ve always felt strongly that the Irish had a great shot of landing him and to be honest, I thought he’d be on the commit list prior to today. I do believe Notre Dame is the team to beat and I’m not ruling out a commitment before this month comes to a close. That said, he’ll take an official visit to South Bend June and I love where Notre Dame has positioned itself in this recruitment. As of Today: Love It SLIDE 12 of 14 Four-star LB Jaylen Sneed Pick: Notre Dame Current Confidence: 7 Date: March 23, 2021 Thoughts: The Top100 talent made his way to Notre Dame for a self-guided unofficial visit this offseason and I believe that trip was a game-changer for him. It couldn’t have gone better from everything we’ve learned. Defensive coordinator Marcus Freeman is doing a tremendous job here and the Irish look like the team to beat. Oregon is also a legitimate threat, but I think Notre Dame has a lead that might be too much for others to overcome. As of Today: Like It SLIDE 13 of 14 Four-star CB Benjamin Morrison Pick: Notre Dame Current Confidence: 7 Date: March 29, 2021 Thoughts: I’ve said it before and I’ll say it again — if Notre Dame welcomes a commitment, I expect the Fighting Irish to land him. Special teams coordinator Brian Polian has been the lead on this recruitment and both him and cornerbacks coach Mike Mickens have done really well with the west coast standout. He’ll be on campus in June and if all goes well, there’s a chance he could pop at that time. As of Today: Like It SLIDE 14 of 14 Three-star DB Devin Moore Pick: Notre Dame 3 COMMENTS Current Confidence: 6 Date: Apr. 16, 2021 Thoughts: Notre Dame, Florida, Florida State, Alabama and Stanford look to be the heavy-hitters battling it out for, in my opinion, one of the most underrated prospects in the class of 2022. Moore is long, athletic, smooth and plays with so much confidence. I think he has the chance to be a difference-maker at the next level and Notre Dame couldn’t agree more, as they are recruiting him like an elite, highly-coveted prospect. There are other programs that have some optimism here, but I believe head coach Brian Kelly is doing everything possible to secure Moore’s commitment and that is paying off. Nothing is set and stone yet, but I like Notre Dame right now and BK is a big reason why. As of Today: Like It
I'm losing my shit over here listening to this week's podcasts talking abou Lou Somogyi with everybody sharing their stories and talking about what a professional and sincerely good guy he was.
Prister's story about Lou going to play the organ at church after an all-nighter hit me right in the feels.
How much is everyone gonna be pissed off when ND goes 12-0 again against that weak schedule and steals another playoff bid
i dont remember where i heard that one. the implication is no one in their right mind would buy a ketchup popsicle, let alone whilst wearing white gloves.
I think we burned some bridges by not taking that qb last year but I can’t remember if that is the same schools
no doubt that’s a thing with these kids, just wild ND couldn’t even get them to visit. Rees and the WR coach need to figure it out
Yeah he played with Mccarthy. Kaleb Brown who is also Chicago catholic league and a top 100 wr recruit is also CB'ed to Meat-chicken Loy on Kaleb Brown Are there any elite wr recruits that are from Naples, Palm Beach, Palm Springs, or Scottsdale so we can get Kelly involved?
