Can someone submit a super chat from Thoros the leader of Driskells Army on TMB. I just want to hear him say that.
Just curious, but why? Does his record as a HC tarnish things? I'm not sure that's an appropriate way to judge. Granted, his defense at Texas in 2020 was middle of the pack, but they improved slightly over the year before. His two years as Co-DC at OSU, they were 15th and 3rd nationally in total defense. I'm not advocating for him, but this isn't the first time I've seen people upset with the idea and I'm trying to get more of a feel as to why.
My memories of him aren’t Texas aren’t great but I wasn’t sure how much that was everything g and not just him
I went to see him quite a bit at San Diego State when he was DB coach and DC. Still have a lot of his drills film. He's a good guy. Solid coach. Not sure I would be thrilled with him but he also isn't a guy I'd be angry about.
Good feedback. I just know from too much OSU exposure that they were pretty tough on D while he was there. Haven't paid too much attention otherwise. But that whole Texas program was a mess when he was there.
as a graduate of UT, i can say that anything that has happened at UT for the last decade is irrelevant. You can't judge any of the coaches from that program as it has been in shambles with very very poor leadership at the top
Was about to come and say the same (though not as a UT grad). Ash was not a great HC but has legitimate DC chops. Also, where is this Ash news coming from?
from Loy: I was told last night that Chris Ash is a name that has re-emerged as someone Marcus is talking with again. We obviously had him as a candidate before, but was told they had moved on. However, ND started communicating with him again.
There isn’t much out there to read either. Seems like they put up really good total defense numbers but don’t know much more than that.
Not much on scheme but he sounds like he’s an up and comer. https://www.minnesotasportsfan.com/the-rise-of-minnesota-gophers-defensive-guru-joe-rossi/amp/
Well I guess you don’t put up excellent defensive numbers like they did without being very schematically sound, which is something we lost a little bit of in the transition from Lea to Freeman. So I think a shift back in that direction would be okay. My big worry is that he’s a little too conservative, kind of like Diaco, but maybe having Freeman closely involved in the game planning would inject more creativity into his defense and we wouldn’t lose the disruptiveness that Freeman brought. Also, everything I said is purely conjecture solely based on a handful of team defensive stats from 2021 Minnesota.
Isn't today the last day USC can take transfers? I thought Williams was popping for USC this afternoon. Or did I dream that up
Todays the last day to add/drop classes at USC for the spring semester. If he was going there, we expected to hear something today
There’s a “Caleb Williams” officially enrolled at USC, per USC mods on Twitter. Unsure if that’s a different student or if they just enrolled his name into the system in advance of him actually making a decision.
I guess nothing is technically stopping him too from training away from a school for a semester and then enrolling somewhere in the fall Just weird if he has to be in class on Monday he hasn't announced yet (getting pretty late PST too)
Montgomery brothers and a LB from PA cancelled on ND’s like 4 person junior day. It’s a bit of a sad projected showing
its fucking January in south bend, no spring ball, terrible weather not even sure why they are doing it
It’s January 29th and the metamorphosis from “this class feels like it could be special” to “oh never mind, we’re going to sign the exact same class as we do every year” is beginning. meet the new boss
yea I really like Feagin and Hanafin, I’d like ND to wrap those two up soon if possible so they can move onto other targets. Christian Gray is a must get for ND. I also like the DB from Kankakee that’s visiting as well Feels like a year to really try and lock down IL with Hill, Feagin, Jagusah, and Elzy. All seem like Mich/ND battles which have been lopsided to Michigan lately (in Illinois)
